15c Yellow Orange (163). Original gum, vivid color of exceptional depth, wide margins and outstanding centering, fresh in every respectEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A STUNNING ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 15-CENT 1873 CONTINENTAL BANK NOTE ISSUE WITH EXCEPTIONAL COLOR.
Original-gum examples of the 15c 1875 Continental Issue with choice centering and vivid color are very seldom encountered. The stamp offered here combines all attributes one could hope for and is easily one of the finest we have encountered.

Our census of Scott 198 contains 63 certified examples. Of these, at least one-third have small flaws. Many have poor centering.

Mint N.H. with "No." of plate no. at bottom, bright color, perfectly centered with wide margins at top and bottom, pencil notation on back in ungummed part of selvage, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb stamp in every respect, with copy of 1984 P.F. certificate for strip of three and with 1999 and 2007 P.F. certificates as this single
2c Green (213). Mathematically perfect centering with Jumbo margins, neat target cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, a truly superb stamp, with 2013 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100 Jumbo; SMQ $1,250.00 as 100, unpriced in 100 Jumbo grade), this is the highest grade possible and the only example to achieve it, coincidently we recently offered the only Mint N.H.
