1c Blue, Ty. I (18). Plate 12, unused (no gum), attractive margins for this tightly-spaced issue with design elements fully visible, tiny thin at top right, appears Very Fine
1c Blue, Ty. I-II (18-20). Plate 12, horizontal pair, left stamp Type I, right stamp Type II, tied to small piece by Globe Village Mass. circular datestamp, some slight perf tip toning, Fine combination pair, with 1987 P.F. certificate and accompanied by plating note from Richard Celler with tentative Positions 53-54L12
1c Blue, Ty. Ia (19). Position 93L4 with bottom sheet selvage, unused (no gum), rich color, the intact selvage allows complete ornaments to be seen at bottom (the most important characteristic of the type)FINE. A RARE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE 1857 PERFORATED ONE-CENT TYPE Ia.
Type Ia was produced by only 18 of the 20 bottom-row positions on Plate 4. The stamp offered here is desirable since it shows all the type characteristics in the selvage.

Positions 97-98L4, horizontal pair, former Curl on Shoulder variety, magenta pen strokes, deep rich color and sharp impression, attractive centering for this tightly spaced issueFINE-VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE SOUND MULTIPLE OF THE 1857 ONE-CENT TYPE Ia WITH THE CURL ON SHOULDER VARIETY.
With 2002 P.F. certificate. Scott Retail as two singles with pen cancels

Plate 4, dark color, margins showing clear design characteristics at both bottom and top, large Boston "Paid" grid cancel, small repair top right corner, otherwise Fine example of this scarce type, which was produced only by 18 positions in the bottom row of Plate 4, with 2011 P.S.E. certificate

1c Blue, Ty. III (21). Plate 4, outstanding margins and centering showing clear breaks at top and bottom, deep rich Plate 4 color, light strike of town cancelEXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL SOUND, CENTERED AND LIGHTLY-CANCELLED USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1857 ONE-CENT BLUE TYPE III FROM PLATE 4.
Due to the narrow vertical spacing on this plate, stamps are most typically found with the perforations impinging on some portion of the design. The example offered here is centered so that the type characteristics are clearly visible.
With 2008 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90; SMQ $4,850.00). Only five have been graded higher (all at 95)

Positions 47-49L4, left two stamps Type IIIa, right stamp Type III, tied by two strikes of "Keokuk, Iowa Feb. 11, 1858" circular datestamp on piece of buff cover, left stamp few unpunched perfs, Fine-Very Fine, a scarce combination strip, accompanied by plating note from Richard Celler which states in part "Neinken classifies the left two stamps as Ty. IIIa, but there are small breaks in bottom of both", Scott Retail as pair of Ty. IIIa-III and single Ty. IIIa

3c Rose, Ty. I (25). Original gum, dark color on fresh paper, short perf at bottom, Very Fine, with clear 2003 P.F. certificate
3c Rose, Ty. I (25). Block of four, vivid color beautifully complemented by blue "Cincinnati O. Aug. 1" circular datestamp cancels, few minor perf separations at topFINE AND SCARCE USED BLOCK OF THE 1857 3-CENT PERFORATED TYPE I WITH A BLUE TOWN CANCEL.
Blocks of this stamp, either used or unused, are quite scarce and many of the examples we have encountered have pen cancels.

3c Dull Red, Ty. III (26). Mint N.H., unusually choice centering with Jumbo margins, post-office fresh color and paper, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb stamp which is rarely seen with Jumbo margins, with 2015 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo; SMQ $1,250.00 as 95, $3,400.00 as 98), only three have graded higher (all at 98) and this is the only 95J
