Unexploded booklet containing four panes, each with bottom left stamp showing the error, Mint N.H. with interleaving, booklet cover free of creases near staples, small rust marks near staplesVERY FINE. AN EXTRAORDINARY COMPLETE BOOKLET CONTAINING ONE OF THE RAREST ERRORS OF THE PHILIPPINES.
We are now aware of four intact booklets, as follows: 1) Offered in our 1996 Rarities sale (ex Diamond, who found two of the error booklets decades ago inside a sealed package of normal booklets); 2) Offered in our 2009 sale of the "Laila" collection; 3) Offered in our 2013 sale of the Diamond Collection (his second example); and 4) the booklet offered here. An intact booklet was offered in our 1999 Rarities sale, but it was not illustrated (we believe it to be one of the aforementioned booklets). Only 24 panes were issued in total, which would have been six complete booklets. Assuming all four booklets are still intact that would leave only eight single panes -- we have offered only four single panes since keeping computerized records.
