Proofs, Essays and Specimens Group. Several dozen items, many complete sets of card proofs, focus is on the 1861 Issue and Bank Notes, also including Postage Dues, Officials, and Newspapers, two large die proofs (68P1 and 76P1, latter cut down), two sets with original envelopes, Specimens are mostly the "Sample" variety, only minor duplication, largely Fine-Very Fine, Scott value around $6,000
Plate Proofs on Card Balance. 46 proofs encased in "coffin" mounts, begins with 3P4-4P4, followed by 40P4-47P4, 63P4/78P4, 112P4-117P4, 120P4-122P4, 129P4, 156P4-166P4, and E1P4-E3P4, generally Fine-Very Fine and fresh
Classic Balance 1845-69. Valuable balance of more than 50 stamps on a stock page, mostly used with a few unused, the cheapest stamps have been left out and many better Scott numbers are present, including Nos. 9X1a, 10X1, 1, 7 (appears unused), 8A, 12, 13, 16, 18 (appears to be original gum), 20-23, 27-28, 29 (appears unused), 31, 34, 38-39 (unused), 56, 62B, 64, 67, 95, 99-101, 112-122 Pictorials complete, others, faults are present essentially throughout or more of these stamps would have been individual lots, overall Fine appearance with many better Scott numbers, even the most conservative assumptions on the unused (counting some as used) results in a Scott value in excess of $30,000
1867-68 Better Grills (79/85E). Six stamps, including Nos. 79, 83, 85, 85B, 85C and 85E, each with a handstamp cancel including 85E in blue and 85C star, generally with margins to touching or in on a side, a few small flaws but nothing very significant for these scarcer and difficult issues, only the 12c Z Grill with a more serious fault (sealed tear), Fine appearance, all but the last with a P.F. or A.P.S. certificate, Nos. 83 and 85B both have P.F. certificates not noting any faults
1867-68 Better Grills (79/85E, 90, 97). Eight stamps, first six are used including Nos. 79, 83, 85, 85B, 85C and 85E, last two are unused including No. 90 (no gum) and No. 97 (large part original gum), most with perfs in on at least one side and small faults, Very Good-Fine appearing group, Scott value approximately $15,000
Classics Balance. 15 unused stamps, including Nos. 24, 26, 65, 73, 182, 183, 184, 205, 206, 207, 209, 210, 212-214, original gum, several Mint N.H. or appear to be Mint N.H. (and were purchased as Mint N.H.), fresh and Fine-Very Fine group, four with certificates as Mint N.H.
Columbian Issue Balance. Old-time album pages with singles, pairs, and blocks encased in "coffin" mounts, apparently all original gum, we note No. 230 imprint block of six and plate no. strip of four, 231 block of four and two plate no. strips of four, 232 block of four and plate no. strip of three, 233 block of six and imprint pair, 234 two plate no. strips of three, 235 block of four, 236 imprint block of four and plate no. strip of three, 238 plate no. single, 239 block of four, and 243 plate no. single, Fine-Very Fine, a useful group
Trans-Mississippi Issue Balance. Old-time album pages with singles, pairs, and blocks encased in "coffin" mounts, apparently all original gum, we note No. 285 plate no. pair and block of four, 286 five plate no. pairs and block of four, 287 plate no. pair, 288 plate no. pair and single, 289 plate no. block of four and three singles, 290 plate no. pair, and 292 plate no. single, additional 5c Pan-American plate no. strip of three, Fine-Very Fine
Postage Due Collection. Hingeless album pages of unused stamps, including Nos. J1, J3, J16, J22-J26, J34, J38-J42, J45-J46, J48 (graded NH 85J, SMQ $400), J49, J53a, J53b, J55, J56a, J69-J104, Mostly Mint N.H., mostly Very Fine, far better quality than normally seen, eight with certificates
Newspaper & Periodical Stamp Balance from the Champagne Stock. Powerful stock all identified and priced, we note better items throughout including mint/unused Nos. PR1, PR1a, PR2, PR3a, PR3b, PR4-6, PR8, PR33a, PR34a, PR44, PR44, PR76, PR81 N.H. block of four, PR89, PR90 block of four, PR92 N.H., PR96, PR104 N.H. and PR121 N.H., used Nos. PR2, PR4, PR17-19, PR24, PR26, PR74, PR108-109, PR111, PR120, PR122 plate crack discovery copy, and PR123-125, a number of certificates, some faults to be expected especially among the early issues, we strongly advise viewing the website PDF, a wonderful dealer stock with an immense catalogue value
Western Union Telegraph Company Complimentary Booklets 1918/1932. 12 complete booklets including 1918-1928 and 1932, few small faults including creasing and at least one detached booklet cover, Fine-Very Fine and scarce
Back-of-Book Balance. Unused stamps, mostly or nearly all original gum, hinged on Scott National album pages, includes Air Post C1-C6 and most later issues (no Graf Zeppelins), the real strength is in Postage Dues which are mostly complete, missing only the Special Printings and a few other high value stamps, Offices in China complete, Officials represented by unused Department of Interior (no other departments), Parcel Post complete, Hunting Permits complete to 1999, condition is nice throughout with just a few typical flaws to be found, overall Very Fine though there will be no Mint N.H. since everything is hinged to the pages, see our website PDF for highlights of the collection

Two Lighthouse hingeless albums with booklet panes, unexploded booklets, Hunting Permits and a few transportation coils, strength is in booklets with a nice study showing different slogans for the same issue, Hunting Permits largely complete except for RW1 and RW5, few are original gum, most Mint N.H., also some Postage Dues, overall Very Fine
