3c Dull Red, Ty. III (26). Right imprint and plate no. 20 block of eight, original gum, few small h.r. where few perf separations sensibly reinforced, bottom pair and selvage with few creasesVERY FINE APPEARANCE. A SCARCE PLATE BLOCK OF THE 1857 3-CENT DULL RED TYPE III.
Scarce with such choice centering.
5c Bright Red Brown (28b). Fresh color, choice centering with well-proportioned margins, indistinct strike of circular datestamp and also with part of red transit cancel, short top left corner perf, otherwise Very Fine and choice example of this often difficult-to-find shade, with 1991 and 2002 P.F. certificates not mentioning the short corner perf and 2008 P.S.E. certificate calling the short perf (VF 80; SMQ $1,500.00)
5c Indian Red (28A). Exceptionally deep rich color, essentially face-free light partial circular datestamp, trivial light margin toning spot top left, otherwise Fine, overall a desirable example of this rare and elusive 1857-60 Issue shade
5c Brown (29). "A" Relief from the top row of the plate, rich color and proof-like impression on bright paper, beautifully centered with wide margins all around which are well clear of the outer projections of the design, bold strikes of red grid cancelsEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT 1857 ISSUE IN THE BROWN COLOR. A BEAUTIFUL STAMP IN EVERY RESPECT.
Ex Floyd and Tahoe. With 1988 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (XF 90; SMQ $1,150.00). A note accompanying this stamp when it was graded explained that the cancel was a bit heavy, otherwise it would have graded higher. We actually think a colorful red cancel adds to this stamp's appeal, which puts it on a par with the seven other examples which have graded higher.
5c Brown (29). Fabulous centering and rich color, black circular datestamp and light ultramarine French transit, Extremely Fine, ultramarine cancel listed but unpriced, with 2008 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90; SMQ $1,150.00 as ordinary cancel)
5c Orange Brown, Ty. II (30). Original gum, lightly hinged, vibrant color and crisp impression, essentially perfectly centeredEXTREMELY FINE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1860 5-CENT ORANGE BROWN TYPE II.
with 2009 P.S.E. certificate (OGph, XF 90; SMQ $3,200.00). Conservatively graded in our opinion

The first perforated 10c stamps produced by Toppan Carpenter from sheets printed from Plate 1 are notorious among collectors for their poor centering.
With 2008 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $2,800.00). Only three examples have graded higher to date in the PSE Population Report.
10c Green, Ty. III (33). Wonderfully well-centered with margins clear of the design all around, rich color, neat "PAID" in circle cancel, Extremely Fine, with 2009 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90; SMQ $800.00)

Position 54L1, recut at bottom, choice centering and margins throughout, scissors-separated but fully-formed perforations, deep rich color, circular datestamp, single unpunched perf mentioned on accompanying certificateEXTREMELY FINE.
