1867, 12-1/2c Orange, -1/8bbl., Beer (REA7; Priester 7A). Unused (no gum), full margins to clear, radiant color and detailed impression, faint vertical crease at leftVERY FINE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE 1867 ONE-EIGHTH BARREL ORANGE WHICH IS CUT SQUARE. VERY FEW ARE KNOWN. ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE IN UNUSED CONDITION
The Priester census records a total of eight unused or used cut square. We do not know how many of the eight are unused -- we have offered only two others unused plus one used since keeping computerized records.

1867, 16-2/3c Dark Green, -1/6bbl., Beer (REA8; Priester 8B). Clear margins to just in at bottom, deep rich color, neat March 16, 1869 handstamp cancel, light creases, small internal tear at bottom rightVERY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 1867 ONE-SIXTH BARREL STAMP CUT SQUARE.
A total of five unused and used are recorded in the Priester census. Three others, all used, are contained in Power Search, including one repaired and one seriously defective.

Margins to in, showing plentiful silk fibers, rich color, blue handstamp, some faults including piece out at top where repairedFINE APPEARING EXAMPLE OF THE 1867 ONE-THIRD BARREL ON SILK PAPER. ONLY THREE ARE RECORDED ON SILK PAPER.
The Priester census records three examples on silk paper. One is cut square and two are cut to shape. Ex Tolman and "Scarsdale". With 2012 P.F. certificate
1867, 33-1/3c Ocher Red, -1/3bbl., Beer (REA10c; Priester 10aD). Cut to shape as always, mounted on 72 x 72mm manila paper, defective including pieces out at bottom left, a presentable example of this great rarity, this is only known cut to shape or die cut, the Priester census recorded only one example but we believe there are probably a half dozen or so as it is sometimes misidentified as the darker Violet Brown
1867, 50c Orange Brown, -1/2bbl., Beer (REA11; Priester 11aB). Neat printed "A. S. 1869" (Amana Society) precancel, large margins, rich color, few creases, Very Fine appearance, purple backstamp at bottom left barely shows thru
1867, $2.00 Red, 1hhd., Beer (REA13; Priester 13A). Unused (no gum), large margins to clear, radiant color, few flaws including creases and sealed tear at upper leftFINE APPEARANCE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 1867 ONE-HOGSHEAD ISSUE WHICH IS UNUSED AND CUT SQUARE.
The Priester census records only three examples cut square. We offered one, also unused, in our Tolman sale. We are unaware if the third is unused or used.
