Horizontal pair showing vertically misaligned entries, large margins to just touching at lower right, grid cancels, Fine-Very Fine, the subject of misaligned entries was recently addressed by Wade Saadi in the August 2010 Chronicle, he surmises that the reason only five U.S. stamps prior to 1870 had framelines is because the siderographer had difficulty aligning the entries and, therefore, designs with ornamental frames produced a better appearance
