Full margins to touched at lower right, affixed with slight brown gum on cover with proper dark blue "Soldier's Fair, Springfield, Dec. 20, 1864" circular datestamp, Very Fine and actually better than usual as others have much more brown gum staining, these covers were probably prepared in advance and sold to patrons, this unaddressed example is what may be termed an unused entire, ex Kantor

VERY FINE AND CHOICE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE STAMFORD SOLDIERS' FAIR STAMP.

A total of 14 Stamford Soldiers' Fair stamps are recorded, including nine unused. They were issued during the fair on July 27-29, 1864.
