Match and Medicine Companies, Collection of Illustrated Advertising Cards, Wrappers and Ephemera. Two groups, first group mounted on album pages and contains approximately 20 better trade cards plus several other unusual to rare items, including J.C. Ayer wrapper, Allcocks Porous Plaster muslin wrapper with facsimile tax stamp, also Dr. Kennedy wrapper on bright orange glazed and separate tin cover, each of these items is most unusual, second group contains more than 250 different cards (mostly) or covers (about a dozen) in a large stock album, housed in clear sleeves so the front and back can both be viewed, huge range of multicolored designs representing a vast array of patent medicine companies and manufacturers or retailers of other personal products, many align with the companies listed in Scott for Private Die Proprietary stamps, some typical flaws and light toning on some to be expected but appear Very Fine, our estimate represents an average of less than $15 per card/item, and while some do sell in that range many bring much more at retail, the attached PDF contains the album pages portion of the lot
