The Hawaiian "T" or "Tax" due handstamp must be scarce as Power Search does not contain another outside of this sale and it is unlisted on the Gregory Post Office in Paradise website

Jan. 6, 1896" circular datestamp and grid duplex, addressed to "Columbian Stamp & Coin Co., La Crosse Wis,, USA", San Francisco and La Crosse backstamps, Very Fine, a philatelic use as this was prepared but never issued for postal purposes, still very scarce in used condition, according to Hawaiianstamps.com Postmaster Whitney expected to institute a special delivery service in 1885 and ordered 2,000 of the 10c size 6 envelopes imprinted with a Special Despatch Letter frank, the Minister of the Interior rejected the proposed special delivery service and the imprinted envelopes thus became "essays" in philatelic terms, the envelopes were returned to the Treasury vault until they were sold to J. T. Waterhouse of Honolulu in late 1893
