13c Apple Green, "Colonias" Overprint (513S). 19 mm violet "Colonias" overprint in capital letters, stamp affixed to piece (probably from Portuguese Post Office record book), general toning and gum soaks, According to James Bendon's U.P.U. Specimen Stamps, the Portuguese Ministry for the Colonies between 1900 and 1910, applied the "Ultramar" overprint to sample U.S. stamps, and distributed the stamps to the various colonies, with a few exceptions "Ultramar" was replaced with "Colonias" in 1911
