2c Carmine Lake, Ty. I (249). Brilliant color, choice centering with Jumbo margins, duplex cancel leaves portrait clearly visible, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2010 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo; SMQ $500.00), only five grade higher
5c Chocolate, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Horizontally (255c). Original gum, bit heavy h.r., rich color, small tear at top and light crease at bottom left, Very Fine appearance, it is believed that most examples of this error originate from a part sheet purchased by a collector at the Richmond Va. post office, with 2021 P.F. certificate
10c Dark Green (258). Right imprint and plate no. 64 strip of three, original gum, h.r., deep rich color, Fine
$1.00-$5.00 1894-95 Bureau Issues (261-263, 276-277). Nos. 261, 261A and 262 with 2021 P.F. certificates as original gum and sound, but we see combinations of regumming and/or reperfing, also No. 261A has perf tip toning not mentioned, otherwise Fine, No. 263 called regummed (this one might actually be o.g.) but has perf tip toning not mentioned on 2021 P.F. certificate, otherwise Fine, No. 276 called original gum and sound but with perf tip toning not mentioned, No. 277 called original gum with thinned perf, also significant perf tip toning not mentioned, otherwise Very Fine, if the P.F. was correct on all the gum calls this catalogues $9,450.00
2c Carmine, Ty. II-III (266-267). Left imprint and plate no. 170 block of 15, nine left stamps Type II, six stamps at right Type III, Mint N.H. except top two stamps at upper right thinned from hinge removal, brilliant color, perf separations but not between the combination pairs, Fine appearance, only plate 170 contained a combination of both Types II and III -- only three rows from one pane were Type II, leaving a total of ten positions out of the plate that can yield this combination of types, Scott value as plate block of No. 266, three combination pairs and three singles of No. 267
$1.00 Black, Ty. II (276A). Original gum, detailed impression, few gum soaked perfs at top left, otherwise Very Fine, with 2021 P.F. certificate
10c Brown, Ty. I (282C). Block of four, three stamps Mint N.H., top right stamp small thin spot, intact perfs at bottom, some slight perf tip toning, otherwise Fine, Scott value as singles
$1.00 Black, Trans-Mississippi (292). Original gum, detailed impression, certificate notes "filed bottom perforations", this is the first time we have seen this term used and it looks reperfed to us, Very Fine appearance, with 2021 P.F. certificate
$2.00 Orange Brown, Trans-Mississippi (293). Mint N.H., bright color, fresh and Fine, a difficult issue to obtain in Mint N.H. condition, with 2021 P.F. certificate
1c Green & Black, Pan-American, Center Inverted (294a). Large part disturbed original gum, rich colors, few faultsFINE APPEARING EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT PAN-AMERICAN INVERT.
According to Johl, the 1c Pan-American Inverts were found in at least four different post offices around the country soon after release of the issue in May 1901, including Bessemer Ala., Richmond Va., Utica N.Y. and Connecticut.
With 1968 P.F. certificate noting "left corners creased and disturbed part o.g."
4c Deep Red Brown & Black, Pan-American, Center Inverted (296a). Unused (no gum), bright colors, defective including repairs, reperfed at left and thinnedFINE APPEARING EXAMPLE OF THE 4-CENT PAN-AMERICAN INVERT.
The 4c Pan-American Invert was a special printing and not regularly issued. Examples were distributed through two official channels, and the gum on the majority of stamps without "Specimen" overprint was disturbed. In fact, because 97 of the stamps were removed from an album page, they are generally thinned or have seriously disturbed or no gum.
