1c Buff, Without Grill (112b). Original gum, rich color, completely soundFINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE SOUND EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL WITHOUT GRILL. PROBABLY FEWER THAN TEN ARE KNOWN.
A Power Search of Scott 112b and a review of older sales produced five singles and a block of four. This is an attractive sound example of this rare stamp.

2c Brown, Without Grill (113b). Mount disturbed original gum, margins all around, exceptional depth of color and detailed impressionFINE. A RARE SOUND EXAMPLE OF THE 2-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE WITHOUT GRILL.
Most examples of this stamp are significantly off-center, with perfs in on one side. We have offered only seven unduplicated singles (plus a block of four) of this rarity since keeping computerized records.

Our survey of the Philatelic Foundation records found approximately 25 examples have been certified as genuine, of which about half have faults.

Our survey of auction catalogs and Philatelic Foundation records produced 23 examples of the 24c 1869 Without Grill (Scott 120a), of which half have faults.

30c Ultramarine & Carmine, Without Grill (121a). Original gum which is partly disturbed, nicely centered, vivid colorsVERY FINE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL WITHOUT GRILL.
This is the true Scott 121a, which is often confused with the Double Paper, Without Grill variety. The shade and impression are noticeably different between the two.

1c Buff (112). Superb centering, rich color, bold green cork cancel, Extremely Fine, an outstanding example of the 1c 1869 Pictorial with a rare green cancel, with 2000 P.F. certificate
6c Ultramarine (115). Exceptionally wide and balanced margins, deep rich green cancel, fresh color, couple blunted perfs at bottom (not mentioned on certificate), otherwise Very Fine and rare green cancel on the 6c 1869 Pictorial Issue, with 1994 P.F. certificate
12c Green (117). Choice centering, light blue cork cancel, wonderfully rich color and detailed impression, Extremely Fine, with 2002 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90; SMQ $375.00)
15c Brown & Blue, Ty. I (118). Large part disturbed original gum, h.r., bright colors, Fine, scarce with original gum

30c Ultramarine & Carmine (121). Choice centering, rich colors, Extremely Fine, with 1993 P.S.E. certificate
30c Ultramarine & Carmine (121). Vertical pair, both stamps with bold red rosette cancels, small edge tears and creases, perf separations at right, otherwise Fine and extremely rare, while there are several large used blocks recorded of the 30c 1869 Issue, they invariably have smudged black cork cancels and the majority of these cancels are not particularly attractive, this pair with red cancels is exceptional and may well be the only multiple extant with a colored cancel, ex Juhring, Scott Retail as pair plus premium for two red cancels
90c Carmine & Black (122). Unused (no gum), rich colors, small sealed tears at top and left, reperfed, Fine appearance

In United States Postage Stamps of 1869, author Jonathan Rose states that only one sheet of 100 was issued. A significantly smaller group are still known to exist. Many are without gum.
