$1.00 Inland Exchange, Perforated, Half Used as 50c (R69c var). Bottom half, neat July 24, 1867 manuscript cancel, affixed to document written in French, Very Fine, scarce, with 1980 P.F. certificate stating that "it is a genuine unofficial usage" -- whatever that means, since bisecting revenue stamps was never "official", but it was done by the agents -- this issue is known to have been used bisected (see our Tolman sale)

1c-6c 1875-83 Proprietary, Large Die Trial Color Proofs on India (RB11TC1a-RB14TC1a, RB16P1-RB17P1). 1c-4c are trial color proofs in Black, 5c and 6c in Black and Violet Blue respectively (both as issued and so die proofs), each proof showing huge margin at bottom and "National Bank Note Co. N.Y." imprint, a few India paper translucencies, the 5c with thin spots, otherwise Very Fine, a rare group, the trial colors for this series are unlisted in Scott, the large die proofs in the issued colors catalogue $500.00 each
