2c Green (3). Original gum, lightly hinged, enormous margins all around including large portions of adjoining stamps at sides, brilliant color, freshEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE CONFEDERATE STATES 2-CENT LITHOGRAPH ISSUE IN THE FINEST CONDITION ATTAINABLE.
Collectors of superb classic stamps are advised to carefully consider this stamp. While the typographed and majority of the engraved Confederate issues (Scott 6-7, 8, 11-13) are available in high grades due to the supply of large multiples and sheets, the same is not true for the Lithographed issues (Scott 1-5). Large multiples of the 2c Lithograph are scarce and expensive -- and therefore not conducive to harvesting superb singles.
With 2014 P.S.E. certificate (OGph, XF-Superb 95 Jumbo; unpriced in this grade, SMQ $2,900.00 as 95 and $5,000.00 as 98). P.S.E. does not publish the Population Report numbers for Confederate States but this is the highest grade we have offered in our auctions and we have not offered any other.

Offered intact as received on album pages, strong Canal Zone with all of the major number including No. 15 (photocopy of P.F. certificate for a block), and some varieties, such as No. 39e (A.P.S. certificate), useful group of Danish West Indies, Guam is complete unused, including No. 9 and two copies of No. 13, plus Guard Mail stamps,, Hawaii contains a few Numerals and a solid group of ABNC printing, including overprint varieties, Philippines contains a few higher cataloguing stamps, slightly mixed quality, the higher values often with a minor fault or imperfection, many sound and Fine-Very Fine stamps will be found

Mostly unused envelope entires and postal cards, better Canal Zone, with catalogue values to $425 (U14), Danish West Indies, which also contains some covers with stamps only, including Scott No. 27 (these were not counted in the catalogue value), Cuba, Hawaii has entires, and postal cards with useful duplication, including Nos. UY1 and UY3 (both unsevered but folded), a small number of used, which are in mixed condition, unused largely Fine-Very Fine, Scott value should be at least $4,000.00
