Vertical strip of three, Positions 8/18/28, few small h.r., bright color, horizontal crease between bottom stamps, top pair Fine, a scarce and attractive multiple with centering that is normal for the genuine error, this is the first we have offered since 2003, signed "S.A." (Spencer Anderson), with copy of 1976 P.F. certificate, Scott Retail as pair with no premium for the bottom stamp
2c Grand Canyon, Horizontal Pair, Imperforate Vertically (741b). Mint N.H., brilliant color, natural gum wrinkle and natural gum skip, Fine, scarce
2c Grand Canyon, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Horizontally (741a). With selvage at left, small h.r. at top, brilliant color, Very Fine and choice, signed in pencil
3c Mt. Ranier, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Horizontally (742a). Lightly hinged, bright color, wide margins, few natural gum bends not mentioned on accompanying certificate, Very Fine and choice, scarce, Datz states only one pane was discovered, this is the first we have offered in over 17 years, with copy of 1960 P.F. certificate
4c Mesa Verde, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Horizontally (743a). Part original gum and with brown Post Office paper affixed to back prior to perforating, defective and apparently pieced back together by the Post Office, showing four horizontal perforations at right, Fine appearance, scarce, Datz states 15 pairs are known, and approximately 6-9 have the brown Post Office paper affixed to back, with copy of 1976 P.F. certificate

(natural gum bend), right pair Mint N.H. but small mark at bottom right of selvage where trivial flaw (does not affect stamps), Very Fine and choice, a scarce position multiple of this variety, one pane each is known of the wet and dry printings

5c Poland, Reverse Printing of Flag Colors -- Blue Violet & Bright Red Over Black (909c). Choice centering, tied by "Chicago Ill. Jun. 22 9-AM 1943" machine cancel on First Day cover with Artcraft cachet to Batavia N.Y., Extremely Fine stamp and cover, this is the second in any condition we have offered since keeping computerized records, with 2005 A.P.S. certificate, unpriced in Scott in any condition
5c France, Reverse Printing of Flag Colors -- Deep Blue & Dark Rose Over Black (915a). Horizontal pair, used with horizontal pair of 5c Greece (916) and 20c Air Post (C29), tied by "New York N.Y. Nov. 23, 1943" circular datestamp and by "Bronx-Gen. Annex" registry ovals on cover to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, censor's opening tape at left, few light toned specks not mentioned on accompanying certificate, Extremely Fine, scarce use of the variety on a registered Air Post cover to Brazil, with 2005 P.S.E. certificate, listed but unpriced in any condition in Scott Catalogue

6c Hemisfair, White Omitted (1340a). Mint N.H., bright colors, Very Fine and choice, only 100 are reported, with 2011 P.F. certificate
6c Football, Vertical Pair, Imperf Horizontally (1382b). Mint N.H., bright and freshVERY FINE. THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THIS MAJOR ERROR.
This stamp was issued in 1969, but the error was not discovered until more than 35 years later. It is unusual that a major error is discovered decades later. Therefore, it is quite unlikely that any others will be found. No other errors of any kind of the 6c Football are known

10c Energy Conservation, Orange and Green Omitted (1547b). Mint N.H. with selvage at right, Very Fine and choice, much nicer than usually found for this error, ex Saddleback
13c Brown, Booklet Pane of Eight, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Between (1595e). Large foldover causing one error pair and another which is mostly complete, three stamps creased from foldover, Mint N.H., Very Fine example of this dramatic variety, with 2005 P.S.E. certificate, Scott Retail as single imperforate-between variety
$1.00 Candle Holder, Intaglio Brown Color Inverted (1610c). Mint N.H., fresh colors and well-centeredEXTREMELY FINE. A PRISTINE MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THIS POPULAR MODERN ERROR -- THE C.I.A. INVERT.
Popularly called the "C.I.A. Invert", a single pane of 100 stamps was purchased at the McLean Va. Post Office by employees of the C.I.A., for use on mail from the agency. They noticed the error, pooled together funds to buy a replacement sheet and kept the pane for themselves. When it was discovered who had purchased the stamps, a scandal ensued over who actually owned the stamps. Of the pane of 100, only 93 sound examples reached collectors.
