1c Green, Bluish (357). Mint N.H. right imprint and plate no. 4894 block of six, light fingerprint on gum of one, rich color on nicely blued paper, a few perf separations and small natural perf disc inclusion in one, otherwise Fine-Very Fine
2c Carmine, Bluish (358). Block of four, bottom right stamp Mint N.H., others with gum soaks to varying degrees, light on top two (barely affects gum in a couple of perfs), heavy on bottom left, nice centering on deeply blued paper, appears Very Fine, Scott Retail as singles
3c Deep Violet, Bluish (359). Lightly hinged, deep rich color on nicely blued paper, choice centering with well-balanced marginsVERY FINE AND CHOICE EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT BLUISH PAPER.
With 2001 P.F. certificate
3c Deep Violet, Bluish (359). Deep rich color, long and full perforations all around, Very Fine, two backstamps, with 1958 P.F. certificate
4c Orange Brown, Bluish (360). Rich color on nicely blued paper, unusually wide margin at topFINE. AN ATTRACTIVE EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 4-CENT ON BLUISH PAPER.
According to Johl (Vol. 1, page 175), the only source of the 4c and 8c Bluish stamps was the archives of the Post Office Department. Approximately 80 of each were traded for rare stamps missing from the archives. Given the failed experimental nature of the paper mixture, it is no surprise that virtually all copies are off-center to some extent.
