10c Blue & Black, Second Issue, Center Inverted (R109a). Unused (traces of original gum), rich colors, light gum staining on a few perfs, still Fine, rare in unused condition, ex Curtis, with 2001 P.F. certificate, Scott Retail as used
$200.00 Red, Blue & Black, Second Issue, "Small Persian Rug" (R132). Bright fresh colors, choice centering and margins, perfs well clear of design all around, unobtrusive manuscript July 5, 1872 cancel, in our opinion completely sound, but the P.F. certificate describes "light creases" which are really nothing but the slightest wrinklesVERY FINE EXAMPLE OF THE $200.00 "SMALL PERSIAN RUG" -- ONE OF THE MOST COLORFUL STAMPS IN UNITED STATES PHILATELY.
Both the Small and Large "Persian Rug" stamps were printed in sheets of one. Because of their size, the large number of perforations on each stamp, and the fact that they were used on documents which were frequently folded across the stamps, sound and centered examples of the multicolored "Persian Rug" issues are extremely rare.

2c Vermilion & Black, Third Issue (R135a). Strong color of the unmistakable Vermilion & Black error, sharp impression, light manuscript cancel, Fine and scarce, ex Cunliffe, with 1975 P.F. certificate
15c Brown & Black, Third Issue, Center Inverted (R139a). Rich colors, centered to bottom right, cut cancel leaves inverted design fully visible, thin spot at topFINE APPEARANCE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 15-CENT THIRD ISSUE REVENUE INVERT. ONLY THIRTEEN SINGLES AND ONE PAIR ARE RECORDED.
Larry Lyons, in his privately published census, records 13 singles and a pair, for a total of 15 stamps. Approximately half have cut cancels, nearly all have faults and most are centered to one corner.

$20.00 Vermilion & Black, Third Issue (R150a). Brilliant color, neat embossed cancel, extra row of perfs, faint horizontal crease near bottom, appears Fine, a scarce error, Scott Retail as cut cancel
5c Green & Black on Green Paper, Proprietary (RB5b). Block of four, lightly cancelled, deep rich colors, small thin spots, Fine appearance, this is the only recorded multiple of this issue, ex Joyce and Curtis
50c Green & Black on Green Paper, Proprietary (RB8b). Rich color on deep green paper, neat "Starkey & Palen Mar. 15, 1888, D.O.T. Phila." handstamp, Very Fine, scarce in sound condition
6c Violet Blue, Rouletted, Proprietary (RB17c). Perf initials cancel, rich color, roulettes mostly intact, thin and small creases, Fine appearance
