St. Louis Postal History. Three 3-ring binders of covers, starts in approximately 1857 with nice group of 3c covers with different markings, goes thru 1929, several fascinating items incl. 1898 typed note from post office accompanying cover that was in a mail box in a building destroyed by fire and recovered five months later, wide range of St. Louis markings incl. 1904 World's Fair machine cancel on No. 324, also some inbound mail from range of originations such as Johannesburg, Cape of Good Hope, Transvaal, few flight covers or picture post cards depicting balloons, few not related to St. Louis, overall Fine-Very Fine, a fascinating group and the start to an expanded collection of this important city's postal markings

Lempster N.H. Feb. 24. Perfectly applied stencil marking in red with manuscript date and matching "6" rate on light pink folded letter addressed to the Governor of New Hampshire, light file fold well away from marking, Extremely Fine, ex Jarrett, only three examples of this rare marking are known
