VERY FINE-EXTREMELY FINE. AN INCOMPARABLY RARE MINT NEVER-HINGED PLATE BLOCK OF THE 90-CENT 1873 INTERIOR DEPARTMENT ISSUE IN THE FINEST CONDITION ATTAINABLE. THIS IS THE FIRST WE HAVE OFFERED SINCE KEEPING COMPUTERIZED RECORDS.

A Power Search review failed to locate a single plate block offered in our auctions since 1993 and our Rarities sales since 1964, in any gum condition. To find this with Mint N.H. gum and in this fresh condition adds to its rarity and desirability. This plate block has not been offered in the auction market for more than 50 years.
