Confederate States General Issues Accumulation. Over a few hundred stamps in singles, blocks and even a sheet of No. 11 with full selvage and No. 2 Keating & Ball imprint, both unused and used, few better items noticed incl. No. 10 with manuscript cancel and even a No. 11 block of thirty with full No. 2 imprint and a letter from Dietz saying it is on laid paper, mixed condition throughout, Fine

Mobile Ala. Independent and Confederate State Use. 26 covers, with five Independent uses after Jan. 11, 1861 incl. 1c Blue, Ty. V (24) used one day after secession, rest are Confederate State use with 3c Dull Red, Ty. III and 3c entires (both Nesbitt and Star Die) dated as late as May 30 (just prior to becoming invalid), all with clear Mobile strikes, mostly Very Fine

Cancel Study Balance. 85 stamps, each with Mobile Ala. double-circle datestamp, most with bold and legible datestamps as singles, pairs and strips, much of which was bought individually from retail stocks, incl. better issues with some duplication showing various shades such as Nos. 1-2, 4-5, 8-9, 10 showing framelines on two sides, and more, catalogue value alone easily exceeds $13,000.00, despite small faults, a fair number are Very Fine-Extremely Fine appearing, close inspection is advised, a wonderful start to a specialized collection

Cover Collection Balance. 64 total, an intriguing collection balance with a wide array of covers each originating in Mobile incl. various uses such as turned covers, adversity, forwarded mail, drop rates, etc., with fourteen No. 1 frankings (incl. two with pairs), 2b strip of three, 3, 5 (2), 8, 12f, and more, nice mixture of material and some faults to be expected, much is Fine-Very Fine with even a few Extremely Fine covers, close inspection is advised, an excellent basis from which to form a specialized cover collection of Mobile, Ala.
