RYUKYU ISLANDS, KUME ISLAND, 1945, 7s Black on Cream, Provisional (1X1). Bottom right corner margin block of four, without gum as issued, large margins, few creases, tear affects bottom right stampVERY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE BLOCK OF FOUR OF THE KUME ISLAND PROVISIONAL ISSUE.
This issue was printed on U.S. military mimeograph paper, then validated by the official seal (in red) of Norifume Kikuzato, postmaster of Kume Island.

RYUKYU ISLANDS, 2c, 4c Black, Trial Color Plate Proofs, Red Specimen Ovpt. (46TCS5, 47TCS5). Top right corner margin blocks of four, huge margins other sides, 2c with two red check marks at upper edge, 4c with single red check mark in same placeEXTREMELY FINE. A UNIQUE SET OF TOP RIGHT CORNER MARGIN BLOCKS OF FOUR OF THE 2-CENT AND 4-CENT 1961 ISSUE.
These are the only denominations known as proofs, and only one sheet of each was found.

RYUKYU ISLANDS, 1960, 9c on 4y Brown, Air Post, Surcharge Transposed (C19c). Mint N.H. block of four with bottom selvage, additional "9c" printed in selvageEXTREMELY FINE. A RARE MINT NEVER-HINGED BLOCK OF FOUR WITH ADDITIONAL SURCHARGE IN THE SELVAGE.
This error came about due to an 8.5mm downward shift in the overprinting of a single sheet, thus reversing the order of the lines of the surcharge. This bottom selvage block beautifully demonstrates this error.

THE UNIQUE TOP LEFT CORNER MARGIN BLOCK OF FOUR WITH THE TOP TWO STAMPS SHOWING LEGEND OF SURCHARGE ONLY AND THE BOTTOM STAMPS WITH SURCHARGE TRANSPOSED. A HIGHLY EXHIBITABLE ITEM.
