Confederate Lynchburg Va., Better Balance. 32 covers mostly from or to Lynchburg Va., range of material from handstamped Paid to General Issues, begins with John Tyler free frank (pre-war), a "Paid 2" drop rate, embossed grocer's corner card, General Issues including four No. 1 (two with corner cards), three No. 2 including one pair and one on turned cover, three No. 4 with pairs, seven Nos. 6-7 including several corner cards and an interesting use with a strip of six over "Due 20" straightline (top four stamps moved for display), No. 8 on a faulty cover, five Nos. 11-12 including one used on obsolete 1c U.S. entire and another with green postmark, No. 13 on a cover on which it does not originate, finally U.S. No. 65 on a POW flag-of-truce cover from Elmira Prison N.Y. to Lynchburg, some faults to be expected but overall a Fine and desirable group, also includes standard edition Dietz 1929 book
