Only 210 were issued, and it is safe to say that most examples are faulty to some degree. A document exists from July 24, 1874, detailing the purchaser of each. The Kingsley census records 76 copies, and a handful are known outside of the census.

Beautiful rich colors and detailed impressions, well-centered for this rarity which is almost always encountered with perfs touching on at least one side, neat manuscript June 4th, 1872 cancelVERY FINE AND CHOICE. AN OUTSTANDING SOUND EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT SECOND ISSUE WITH INVERTED CENTER.
A review using Power Search reveals just how rare this invert is in sound condition with any semblance of decent centering. Each used example contained in Power Search has perfs touching on at least one side (sound or with faults). The only exception is a well-centered example with multiple pinhole cancels. The Zoellner collection contained a well-centered unused example.

25c Blue & Black, Second Issue, Center Inverted (R112a). Deep rich colors, neat 1871 manuscript cancel, choice centering for this difficult issue, bright and freshEXTREMELY FINE. FEWER THAN 20 EXAMPLES OF THE 25-CENT SECOND ISSUE WITH INVERTED CENTER ARE RECORDED AND THIS IS AMONG THE FEW FINEST IN EXISTENCE.
In his privately published census, Larry Lyons records seventeen examples of the 25c Second Issue Invert. Of these, ten have faults, one is noted as having a herringbone cancellation, and three have no notes as to condition (our records note that at least one is faulty).
