VERY FINE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1901 $1.00 TYPE II WITH PHILIPPINES OVERPRINT.

The fifteen left vertical rows of Plate 76 are Type I; the remaining five rows are Type II. Only 3,000 $1.00 1895 stamps were overprinted for use in the Philippines. Therefore, only 750 Type II stamps were produced.
