A BEAUTIFUL SINGLE FRANKING OF THE HAMBURG HALF-SCHILLING FIRST ISSUE.

Bright colors, tied by two neat strikes of blue "B62" in barred oval handstamps, matching "Hong Kong MY 29, 1864" backstamp on folded letter to Ipswich, Mass., U.S.A., red "London JY 13, 1864 Paid" and also red "N. York Am. Pkt. Paid 24 Jul. 28, 1863" transit circular datestamps (New York marking with wrong yeardate), red "21 Cents" credit and purple "1" colonial credit, red Augustine Heard backstampVERY FINE. Deucalion", ms. "8" debit, red London Jan. 15, 1852 and blue receiving backstamp of the same day, fresh and Very Fine, a gorgeous cover which spent a remarkable 155 days in transit

Large margins all around, brilliant color, cancelled by neat strike of "Asuncion 11 Abr. 77" double-circle datestamp on cover to Buenos Aires, Argentina, bold "A Cobrar 2 Centavos" due marking applied on arrival, receiving backstamp of April 16, slightly reduced at leftVERY FINE. AN ATTRACTIVE USAGE OF THE FIRST ISSUE OF PARAGUAY ON A COVER MAILED WITH INSUFFICIENT POSTAGE TO ARGENTINA.
