2c Carmine, Ty. VII, Imperforate (534B). Large well-proportioned margins, lovely bright color and detailed impression clearly showing the type characteristics, wavy-line machine cancelEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 2-CENT TYPE VII IMPERFORATE OFFSET ISSUE.
According to Armstrong, the imperforates were issued to satisfy the needs of the last remaining private coil manufacturer. The Mail-O-Meter Company merged with the Schermack Company and so these issues are also known with the Schermack Type III perforations, such as are also seen on Scott 314A and 482A. However, a small supply of the imperforate 2c Type VII stamps without Schermack perfs did reach the public.
With 1977 and 2009 P.F. certificates. With 2009 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $1,900.00). Only two have graded higher and only one other shares this grade

3c Deep Violet (537a). Deep rich color on crisp white paper, bold "Salem Ohio" precancel, choice centering with well-balanced marginsEXTREMELY FINE. FEWER THAN 20 USED EXAMPLES OF THE RED VIOLET ARE CURRENTLY KNOWN.
As of 2010 the Philatelic Foundation had certified only six singles, one pair (now split) and one block of four as genuine. The other block (uncertified) has a straight edge at right and slight thinning.
With 2002 P.F. and 2004 P.S.E. certificates (VF-XF 85; SMQ $1,300.00). Only one has graded higher in the P.S.E. Population Report (at 90) and no others share this grade. In our opinion the SMQ value makes no sense as the VF-XF 85 grade for a perforated stamp should be at least equal to Scott Retail, which in this case is $700.00 more than SMQ
3c Light Reddish Violet (537b). Choice centering with wide margins, pretty shade, machine cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2011 P.F. and P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $210.00), only one example has been graded higher and this is the only example to achieve this grade
