APPROXIMATELY TWELVE COVERS BEARING THE 5-CENT ROSE ARE RECORDED.

Horizontal pair, large margins to just touched at right, bright color, left stamp light vertical crease and tiny tear at topVERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE ORIGINAL-GUM PAIR OF THE 10-CENT BLUE -- ONLY TWO PAIRS ARE RECORDED, AND THIS IS THE LARGEST RECORDED MULTIPLE OF THIS ISSUE.

NEW BRUNSWICK, 1851, 6p Olive Yellow, Bisect (2b; SG 4a). Two of the same halves positioned on cover to appear as a single stamp, tied by blue oval grid, "St. John New Brunswick Au. 11, 1858" circular datestamp on cover to Boston Mass., blue "Chatham N.B. AU ?, 1858" backstamp, red "Paid 10" in circle handstamp, vertical file fold and some slight edgewearVERY FINE. AN ATTRACTIVE AND RARE COVER BEARING TWO BISECTED HALVES OF THE 1851 6-PENCE ISSUE. ONLY TWO SUCH USAGES ARE KNOWN AND THIS IS BY FAR THE FINER OF THE TWO.

NEWFOUNDLAND, 1857, 1p Brown Violet (1; SG 1). Horizontal strip of four, large margins to just barely in at top left, tied by grids, red "St. John's Newfoundland, Paid, JY 7, 1857" circular datestamp on printed Prices Current with note, to Boston Mass., strip tied by large "Boston Br. Pkt. 5cts. Jul. 17" debit circular datestamp, stamps affected by horizontal file fold, left stamp small tear at top leftVERY FINE APEARANCE. ONLY TWO COVERS ARE RECORDED BEARING FOUR EXAMPLES OF THE NEWFOUNDLAND 1857 ONE-PENCE STAMPS, AND THIS IS THE EARLIER OF THE TWO.
Prices Current were charged the packet letter rate up until October 1, 1857. After this date, printed letters without any other writing were treated as newspapers and came under the regulations of the Colonial bookpost. The printed circular rate of 1d comes from this regulation.

Large to huge margins with such wide margins on two sides that we wonder whether this could be a corner margin single, tied by neat strike of grid, "St. John's Newfoundland Paid JU 7, 1863" rimless circular datestamp on cover to Harbor Grace, receiving backstamp, missing part of bottom flap, opened up and extensively restored, stamp with two small wrinklesVERY FINE APEARANCE. THIS IS REPORTED TO BE THE ONLY RECORDED USE OF THE FIVE-PENCE CHOCOLATE BROWN USED INTERNALLY TO PAY THE DOUBLE RATE.

Pkt. Nov. 5" circular due handstampFRESH AND VERY FINE EXAMPLE OF THE 5-PENCE PACKET RATE PREPAID USING THE ONE-PENCE STAMPS.

Two diagonal halves of the same stamp arranged on the cover to appear as a single stamp, tied by bold strike of grid cancel, "Halifax Nova Scotia, AU 23, 1860" backstamp on cover to Sydney, endorsed "Per Steamer Merlin" and also marked "care of J.S. Brown Esq., Harbour Master", receiving backstamp, missing part of top flapVERY FINE. ONE OF ONLY THREE RECORDED COVERS BEARING TWO HALVES OF THE 3-PENCE BISECT.

AU 7, 1864" circular datestamp on cover to Sherbrooke, stamp with two tiny perf flaws, cover with some slight overall wearVERY FINE APPEARACE. A RARE USE OF THE BISECT OF THE PERFORATED 5-CENT NOVA SCOTIA ISSUE OVERPAYING THE 2-CENT LOCAL RATE.
