2c Carmine, Bluish (358). Mint N.H., rich color on deeply blued paper, wide margins, fresh and Extremely Fine, with 2011 P.S.E. certificate
2c Carmine, Bluish (358). Bottom imprint and plate no. 4860 block of six, h.r. at center, deep shade on nicely blued paper, fresh and Fine-Very Fine
3c Deep Violet, Bluish (359). Small h.r., rich color on nicely blued paper, perfs scissors-separated on two sides, fresh and Fine
3c Deep Violet, Bluish (359). Block of four, adherences on back from what looks like a 2c stamp, few tiny thin specks are barely noticeable, rich color on nicely blued paperFINE APPEARANCE. A SCARCE BLOCK OF FOUR OF THE 3-CENT BLUISH PAPER ISSUE.
Most blocks have been broken to feed collector demand for singles. Scott Catalogue only assigns a $550.00 premium for a block versus four singles.
4c Orange Brown, Bluish (360). Lightly hinged, intense shade on deeply blued paper, detailed impressionA VERY FINE AND FRESH EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 4-CENT ON BLUISH PAPER.
According to Johl (Vol. 1, page 175), the only source of the 4c and 8c Bluish stamps was the archives of the Post Office Department. Approximately 80 of each were traded for rare stamps missing from the archives. Given the failed experimental nature of the paper mixture, it is no surprise that virtually all copies are off center to some extent.

Only one plate block is known (ex Todd). The last block of four offered in one of our auctions was in our 1989 Rarities sale.
6c Red Orange, Bluish (362). Mint N.H., vibrant color except where slightly oxidized at top (not present when certified), Very Fine, scarce in Mint N.H. condition, with 1999 P.F. certificate

Approximately a dozen plate blocks are known, as is a pane of 100. Blocks should be considered rare -- the last block of four we offered was in 1989. Scott Catalogue assigns only a $250.00 premium for a block versus four singles.
8c Olive Green, Bluish (363). Lightly hinged, intense shade on deeply blued paperA FRESH AND VERY FINE EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 8-CENT ON BLUISH PAPER.

Only 40 sheets (4,000 stamps) were printed of the 10c. Three plate blocks are known. We have offered only one other block of four since 1989. Scott Catalogue assigns only a $600.00 premium for a block of four versus four singles.
