The unique set of complete panes of 100, each with imprint and plate nos. at left and bottom, natural s.e. at top and right, most stamps Mint N.H., few h.r. mostly in corners, top right stamp in each pane with thin spot, few perf separations to be expected, 5c with blue crayon in selvage, rich colorsVERY FINE. CANAL ZONE, 1924, $1.00 Violet Brown (81). Top plate no. 14268 and "F" block of six, tropicalized original gum, intense shade and impressionVERY FINE. A SCARCE PLATE BLOCK OF THE $1.00 CANAL ZONE OVERPRINT WITH FLAT "A".

CANAL ZONE, 1924, 10c Deep Claret, Postage Due (J14). Mint N.H. top imprint, plate no. 5540 and small star block of six with wide selvage, deep rich color and proof-like impression on bright paperVERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE AND DESIRABLE MINT NEVER-HINGED PLATE BLOCK OF THE 10-CENT POSTAGE DUE WITH FLAT "A" FROM THE TOP PLATE POSITION.

CANAL ZONE, 1930, 1c on 5c Blue, Postage Due, "Postage Due" Omitted (J21a). Bottom right corner selvage vertical pair, bottom stamp the error, deep rich color, some slight surface scrapingVERY FINE APPEARANCE. THE UNIQUE CORNER SELVAGE EXAMPLE OF THE "POSTAGE DUE" OMITTED VARIETY.
This variety was caused by a dramatic upward shift of the overprint. The "1" is split on all stamps, and "Postage Due" is omitted on the bottom five stamps of the pane.

HAWAII, 1861, 5c Blue, Thin Bluish Wove (9). Complete sheet of 20 with sheet margin all around, 14 stamps Mint N.H., Position 2 with line thru "Honolulu", Positions 3 and 4 with stains, Position 3 with hole, Position 12 light creaseVERY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE COMPLETE PANE OF 20 OF THE 5-CENT KAMEHAMEHA THIRD PRINTING ON THIN BLUISH WOVE PAPER. THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED INTACT SHEET.

PHILIPPINES, 1899, 50c Orange (212). Mint N.H. top imprint and plate no. 75 block of ten with wide selvage, vibrant color as fresh as the day it was printed, accompanying certificate notes small thin spot on bottom left stamp which we have a difficult time detectingVERY FINE-EXTREMELY FINE. A STUNNING MINT NEVER-HINGED PLATE BLOCK OF THE PHILIPPINES 1899 50-CENT UNWATERMARKED ISSUE. ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE IN MINT NEVER-HINGED CONDITION AND FROM THE TOP PLATE POSITION.
In our recent auction of the Whitpain collection we sold a perfectly centered plate block of eight, which we described as the largest recorded plate block multiple. Before that auction this multiple was brought to our attention (and announced at the sale). It now becomes the largest recorded plate block.
