3c Violet, Ty. I, Coil (493). Lightly hinged, mathematically perfect centering and wide margins, fresh color, Extremely Fine Gem, an absolutely stunning example of this 1916-18 coil, with 2011 P.S.E. certificate (OGph, Gem 100; SMQ does not price this issue above the grade of 98, SMQ $55.00 as 98), we normally quote the highest SMQ value available for P.S.E. stamps graded above the maximum listed grade, however we feel strongly that SMQ values have little relevance for this stamp, as it is the only Scott 493 in any coil format or gum condition to achieve the perfect grade of Gem 100
