May 1, 1941 9-AM" circular datestamp on First Day cover to local address, some slight envelope toning at right, Very Fine and scarce use of the 10c 1941 Postal Savings as postage on the date of issue
$5.00 Sepia, Postal Savings (PS15). Group of seventeen plate number singles and one plate block, representing all nine of the different plate numbers used for the $5.00 stamp in both top and bottom positions, Mint N.H., Fine-Very Fine
25c-$5.00 Savings, Printing Freaks (S5 var-S7 var). Four items, No. S5 misperforated, two No. S6 misperforated, and No. S7 with very light printing (and accompanied by a letter from the B.E.P.), the perforation shifts are quite dramatic, Mint N.H., $5.00 with horizontal crease, varieties such as these are seldom found on the Savings Stamps
$1.00 Treasury Savings (TS1). Top plate no. F 73202 single, original gum, h.r., well-centered (the majority of this issue are poorly centered), deep intense color and impression
VERY FINE AND CHOICE EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-DOLLAR TREASURY SAVINGS STAMP. especially desirable this well-centered and with a plate number.
There are no known plate blocks of this issue. Because of this, the Scott Catalogue assigns a large premium ($5,000 vs. $3,750) for a plate number single.
$5.00 Deep Blue, War Savings (WS4). Bottom plate no. 61911 single, original gum, well-centered, rich color on bright paper, Very Fine and choice, with 1978 P.F. certificate, Scott does not list a full plate block and give a large premium for a plate number single
$5.00 War Savings (WS4-WS6). Unused, Nos. WS4 and WS5 regummed, No. WS6 with traces of gum (catalogued as no gum), well-centered, Very Fine, No. WS4 with 2024 P.F. certificate (VF-XF 85), No. WS5 with 2024 P.F. certificate (VF 80)
$5.00 Carmine, War Savings (WS5). Mint N.H., nicely centered, vibrant color, Very Fine, few example exist in Mint N.H. condition, with 2024 P.F. certificate (VF 80)
10c-$5.00 1942-45 War Savings (WS7-WS11). Mint N.H. complete panes of 100 for 10c-$1.00 and pane of 25 for $5.00, the latter with some stray gum in bottom selvage and single pencil notation in left selvage, Very Fine set
