1c-$5.00 1922 Issue (551-573). Two complete or nearly complete sets of Nos. 551-573, including three $5.00, all apparently Mint N.H., also blocks of four of Nos. 571-573, the latter two with plate no. and Mint N.H., the $1.00 hinged, Fine-Very Fine group
10c Orange, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Horizontally (562a). With full top sheet margin, Positions 8/18 (light pencil on each stamp as do all), top stamp Mint N.H., brilliant color, fresh and Fine, the Datz book states one pane is known, all of the examples we have seen of this error are centered to the right, many quite strongly, ex Liberman, with 1989 P.F. certificate
10c Orange, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Horizontally (562a). Block with top right corner selvage, original gum, lightly hinged, some very slight oxidationVERY FINE EXAMPLE OF THE 10-CENT 1923 ISSUE IMPERFORATE HORIZONTALLY. THIS POSITION MULTIPLE IS UNIQUE.
The Datz book states one pane is known. All of the examples we have seen of this error are centered to the right, many quite strongly.
Light pencil notation in selvage "Plate 14816". Scott Retail as two pairs.
10c Orange, Imperforate Pair (562b). Positions 39-40, horizontal pair, unused (no gum) as are all known examples, vivid color, ample to large margins including guideline at right, left stamp small spots which may be a trace of the blue crayon found on many examples of this issue, Very Fine and choice, ex Liberman, Ward backstamp, with 1987 and 1989 P.F. certificates
20c Carmine Rose, Horizontal Pair, Imperforate Between (567a). Small h.r. at center, deep rich color, typical centering, fresh and Fine, according to Gary Griffith, a complete pane of 100 was found in Pasadena Cal. in 1929, which was divided between two collectors, this would make 50 pairs total, at least one of the panes was broken into pairs and blocks, ex Liberman, with 1990 P.F. certificate
25c Yellow Green, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Horizontally (568b). Vertical pair with selvage at right, top stamp h.r., choice centering for this difficult errorVERY FINE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 25-CENT 1922 ISSUE IMPERFORATE HORIZONTALLY.
According to United States Stamps 1922-26 by Gary Griffith, this error was discovered in 1927 in Georgia. In Mekeel's Weekly Stamp News, Sep. 5, 1927, noted dealer Philip H. Ward stated that "the pane was normal with this small corner receiving the vertical perforation only", indicating that only part of the pane contained the error. Auction records seem to support this. Apart from the unique plate number block offered in our 2013 Rarities sale and a strip of three with right selvage offered by us in 2016, every example found using Power Search has perfs touching the design at left.

1c Yellow Green, Coil (604). Mint N.H., mathematically perfect centering, bright shade, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2012 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100; SMQ $500.00), this is one of only five examples at this perfect grade, with none higher
2c Norse-American (620). Mint N.H., mathematically precise centering on bright white paper, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2009 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100; SMQ $350.00), one of nine at this perfect grade with none higher
1c Green, Perf 11 x 10-1/2, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Between (632b). Mint N.H., deep rich color on bright paper, typical centering for this rare varietyFRESH AND FINE EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT COMPOUND PERF IMPERFORATE BETWEEN. VERY FEW ARE KNOWN.
According to Gary Griffith, this error was discovered in 1939 in Bergen N.Y. The find was reported as thirteen blocks of four and three pairs, but some were subsequently determined to have blind perfs and were disqualified.

2c Carmine, Ty. II (634A). Mint N.H., vibrant color, Very Fine, with photocopy of 1989 P.F. certificate for a block of four
7c Black, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Between (639a). Mint N.H. with selvage at left, sharp proof-like impression, Very Fine and choice
2c Burgoyne (644). Mint N.H., gorgeous Jumbo margins, mathematically perfect centering and bright color, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2006 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100 Jumbo; SMQ $275.00 as 100, unpriced 100 Jumbo grade), this is one of only four at this highest of grades
5c Hawaii Ovpt. (648). Mint N.H., mathematically perfect centering, rich color on bright white paper, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2010 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100; SMQ $725.00), the highest grade awarded and shared by only six others
2c Lake, Sullivan Expedition (657a). Mint N.H., rich color, wide and balanced margins, Extremely Fine example of this scarce color variety, with 2004 P.S.E. certificate for a block of four
2c Lake, Sullivan Expedition (657a). Mint N.H., intense shade, wide margins, Very Fine, with 1997 P.F. certificate

2c Von Steuben, Imperforate (689a). Positions 69-70, horizontal pair, large margins including intact guideline at right, bright color, Very Fine and choice, three panes of 100 were originally discovered, the first was returned and destroyed, some stamps from the second pane were used on covers and the remainder was returned, the third pane was discovered in Washington state and purchased intact at the post office, all known examples come from this third pane, ex Liberman, with 1989 P.F. certificate for a block of four
2c Dark Lake & Black (703b). Position 18, Mint N.H., deep rich color, fresh and Fine, with 2002 P.S.E. certificate
5c Kosciuszko, Horizontal Pair, Imperforate Vertically (734a). With right sheet margin, lightly hinged, Very Fine and rare, only one pane of 100 was discovered, leaving only 50 pairs known, some have faults and four are in the unique plate block of eight, with 2007 P.F. certificate
3c Nicolet's Landing, Imperforate Vertically (739b). Lightly hinged, wide margins, Extremely Fine, ex Liberman, with 1991 P.F. certificate
5c Yellowstone, Horizontal Pair, Imperforate Vertically (744a). Bright color, attractive margins and centering, natural gum crease, still Fine-Very Fine and scarce, Datz book states only 50 pairs are known, signed in pencil, with 1997 P.F. certificate
3c Liberty Coil, Imperforate (1057b; formerly 1057a). Mint N.H. pair, three large margins, rich color, Fine and scarce, ex Liberman, with 1990 P.F. certificate
5c Christmas, Horizontal Pair, Imperforate Between (1240b). Rich colors, choice centeringVERY FINE. THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THE 1963 5-CENT CHRISTMAS IMPERFORATE BETWEEN ERROR. A WONDERFUL RARITY.

15c John Paul Jones, Perf 12 (1789B). Mint N.H. with narrow top selvage, rich colors on bright paperVERY FINE MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE RARE PERF 12 JOHN PAUL JONES ISSUE.
This issue was printed by the American Bank Note Company and perforated in three different formats: Perf 11 x 12 (Scott 1789), Perf 11 All Around (Scott 1789A) and Perf 12 All Around (Scott 1789B). It is believed that the USPS was unaware that there were different perforations. The Perf 12 All Around is by far the rarest.
Small pencil notation on gum. With 1986 P.F. certificate
13c Liberty Bell, Booklet Pane of Six, Miscut Inserted Upside Down, Imperforate Below Bottom Stamp with "Tab" at Bottom (1595h). Mint N.H., in a complete booklet with normal 6c Eisenhower pane (BK127), the front cover is separated for display of the error, Very Fine, a rare and unusual error, only 20 are believed to have been produced and this is the first we have offered, with 2020 P.S.E. certificate, listed but unpriced in Scott
