Through an error at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, a small quantity of this stamp was erroneously printed using the inks in use at the time for the Postage Due issues.

Joint line pair, rich color, much better centering than normally seen, neat strikes of duplex cancel, Very Fine and choice, this coil issue is very underappreciated and undercatalogued, especially in used condition, even in Mint N.H. or hinged condition the highest grade is an 85 in P.S.E.'s Population Report, it is normally found with perfs touching at top and has been overshadowed by the Type I, Scott 449, but is actually more difficult to find with any kind of decent centering, with 2011 P.S.E. certificate
