With 1997 and 2016 P.F. certificates (XF-Superb 95). No higher grade has been awarded to a Scott 422 by the Philatelic Foundation. By comparison, P.S.E. has graded only one higher (at 98)

Lightly hinged, exceptionally well-centered with wide margins, intense color and detailed impression on bright white paper, Extremely Fine Gem, this issue occasionally comes with wide margins but is rarely found with such wonderful centering, ex "Golden Oak", with 2003 P.S.E. certificate (OGph, Superb 98, SMQ $1,750.00), only one hinged example has been graded higher (at 100)
