Our recently updated census records for Scott 174 contain 39 certified examples. Of these, an overwhelming majority have the perforations scissors-separated on at least one side.

24c Dull Purple, Special Printing (175). Without gum as issued, rich color on bright paper, perfs scissors-separated as usual but intact on two sidesFRESH AND VERY FINE EXAMPLE OF THE 24-CENT 1875 CONTINENTAL BANK NOTE COMPANY SPECIAL PRINTING.

2c Vermilion (178). Part original gum with some trivial soiling on back, huge Jumbo margins and almost precisely centered, vivid color, Extremely Fine
5c Blue (179). Original gum, h.r., intense shade and impression, choice centering, few minor perf separations sensibly reinforced and expertly reperfed at right, Very Fine appearance, left pair is Extremely Fine, the 5c 1875 Continental is very scarce in this choice original-gum condition, with 2012 P.F. certificate
1c Dark Ultramarine (182). Original gum, lightly hinged, radiant color on bright paper, Extremely Fine, an attractive stamp, with 2012 P.S.E. certificate (OGph, XF 90; SMQ $500.00)
3c Green (184). Bright color, mathematically perfect centering, long and full perforations all around, unobtrusive face-free cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb stamp in every respect, with 2012 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 98, SMQ $425.00 as 98), this is the only example to achieve this grade and only two have graded higher
10c Brown, With & Without Secret Mark (187-188). Block of four, top left stamp without secret mark, bright color, neat strikes of "2" duplex cancel, few perf separations sensibly reinforced, top right stamp light corner crease, Fine appearance, scarce in block form
10c Brown, With Secret Mark (188). Original gum, wide to huge margins and well-centered, tiny thin speck and reperfed at right, Extremely Fine appearance
15c Red Orange (189). Mint N.H., exceptionally well-balanced margins, pristine vivid color on fresh paper, Extremely Fine, with photocopy of 2001 P.F. certificate for block of four
15c Red Orange (189). Original gum, lightly hinged, brilliant color, wide and balanced margins, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2012 P.S.E. certificate (OGph, XF-Superb 95; SMQ $825.00)
30c Full Black (190). Original gum, beautifully centered, marvelous intense shade, Very Fine and choice, with 1990 P.F. certificate
1c Dark Ultramarine, Special Printing (192). Without gum as issued, radiant color on crisp paper, new P.F. certificate describes two tiny thin spots and tiny corner perf crease at bottom left -- the "thin spots" are typical paper mesh airholes along the side of the stamp, and the "perf crease" could be eliminated simply by removing the excess paper from the bottom left, leaving an intact corner -- in our opinion this is a sound stampVERY FINE AND CHOICE. A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT 1880 AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY SPECIAL PRINTING. ONLY 25 ARE RECORDED IN OUR CENSUS. ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL CLASSIC UNITED STATES STAMPS.
Our comprehensive census of Scott 192 (available at http://www.siegelauctions.com/dynamic/census/192/192.pdf ) contains a total of 25 copies of Scott 192. Of these, thirteen are reported to be sound.

2c Black Brown, Special Printing (193). Without gum as issued, perfs trimmed at right (possibly a natural straight edge), deep rich color on bright paperVERY FINE AND SCARCE EXAMPLE OF THE 2-CENT 1880 AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY SPECIAL PRINTING. APPROXIMATELY 50 ARE KNOWN.
Our comprehensive census records for Scott 193 contains 47 copies. Of these, only 26 are potentially sound -- seven of the 26 have not been examined in decades and may no longer be sound.

7c Scarlet Vermilion, Special Printing (196). Without gum as issued, radiant color, centered to top right, thinned at top, trivial corner perf crease at lower right, still appears Fine, this poor dog would make a good companion at an affordable price, approximately 80 are known
5c Yellow Brown (205). Perfectly centered with Jumbo margins, crisp impression, light strike of duplex cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, a phenomenal stamp in every respect, with 2012 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 98, SMQ $650.00 as 98), this is the only example to achieve this grade, which is the highest awarded
1c Gray Blue (206). Radiant color, excellent impression of Glen Allen Star precancel, fresh and Extremely Fine example of this stamp and precancel, with 1988 P.F. certificate
3c Blue Green (207). Mint N.H. with bottom selvage, rich color on bright paper, Extremely Fine, with 2012 P.S.E. certificate for pair
3c Blue Green, Douglas Patent Punch, Double Paper and Punched with Eight Small Holes in a Circle (207 var). Bottom imprint and plate no. 367 block of ten, original gum, h.r., rich color, each stamp with the eight patent punches in a circle, few trivial perf separations, a few surface flaws endemic to this patented paperVERY FINE. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE AND POSSIBLY UNIQUE PLATE BLOCK OF THE 3-CENT RE-ENGRAVED WITH DOUGLAS PATENT PUNCH APPLIED TO THWART CANCELLATION REMOVAL.
The Douglas Patent was designed to prevent the re-use of stamps through printing on two thin layers of paper, which would break apart when removed from a cover. It is reported that some were sold at the Washington D.C. post office.
6c Deep Brown Red (208a). Original gum, choice margins and exceptional centering, beautiful deep rich color, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2000 P.F. (for block) and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (OGph, XF-Superb 95; SMQ $1,750.00), only two have graded higher
2c Red Brown, 4c Blue Green (210-211). Original gum, former Mint N.H., latter h.r., exceptionally well-centered, 4c particularly wide margins, Extremely Fine
4c Blue Green (211). Mint N.H., attractively balanced margins, fresh and crisp, lovely color, Extremely Fine, with 2007 P.S.E. certificate (VF-XF 85; SMQ $1,250.00)
1c Ultramarine (212). Mint N.H. horizontal block of six, fresh, bright pastel color, perf separations between pos. 4 and 5, left pair Fine-Very Fine, right block Very Fine and choice, with 2010 P.S.E. certificate, Scott Retail as Mint N.H. singles
1c Ultramarine (212). Top imprint and plate no. strip of six, original gum, h.r., some toning along top edge and in left stamp, otherwise Fine-Very Fine
2c Green (213). Mint N.H., fresh color on bright paper, perfectly centered, Extremely Fine, ex Drucker
3c Vermilion (214). Mint N.H. top imprint and plate no. 421 strip of five, partial double row of perfs in selvage, insignificant tiny thin and gum disturbance in selvage only at right, stamps are unaffected, otherwise Fine-Very Fine, an attractive and scarce strip, with 2010 P.S.E. certificate, Scott Retail as five Mint N.H. singles
3c Vermilion (214). Bottom imprint and plate no. 421 block of twelve, natural s.e. with part arrow at left, original gum, h.r. where some perf separations sensibly reinforced, radiant color, Fine-Very Fine
5c Indigo (216). Bright shade and paper, neat strike of target cancel, wide and balanced margins, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb stamp in every respect, with 2012 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98; SMQ $680.00), only one has graded higher (at 100J and offered in our recent Natalee Grace sale) and none share this grade
30c Orange Brown (217). Bottom imprint and plate no. 405 strip of five, original gum, bright color, few minor perf separations, small thin spot affects two right stamps, Fine appearance
90c Purple (218). Warm shade, well-balanced margins, neat strike of oval registry cancel, Extremely Fine, a beautiful stamp, with 2012 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90; SMQ $600.00)
