3c Rose, Ty. I, "Recut Bust" (25 var). Position 47R6, clear recut of lines on bust and bottom of medallion circle, rich color, attractive centering, town cancel, Fine and attractive example of this scarce recut variety
3c Rose, Ty. I (25). Vertical pair, deep rich color nicely contrasted by face-free blue town cancel, well-centered for this tightly-spaced issue, Very Fine and choice, a lovely pair
3c Rose, Ty. I (25). Positions 15/25/35R6, vertical strip of three, perfect centering with outstanding margins for this very tightly-spaced issue, rich color, 1857 town cancels, Extremely Fine, a beautiful strip rarely found in this condition

Two multiples, first Pos. 28-30L6, strip of three with right interpane sheet selvage and centerline, large town cancel, second is vertical strip of four, tied by two strikes of large Boston "Paid" on piece, Fine and scarce multiples, Scott Retail as two strips of three and single

Positions 1-2/11-12R7, block of four with top left corner interpane selvage and centerline, unusually wide perforations at top, rich color, cancelled by neat penstrokes, couple light creases and tiny pinpoint thin speck bottom right stampVERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXTREMELY RARE CORNER-MARGIN BLOCK OF THE 1857 3-CENT PERFORATED TYPE I STAMP.
The wide spacing of the perforations at top are very unusual. Blocks of this stamp are exceedingly rare, as is demonstrated by the fact that two pairs catalogues only $600.00. This is the only used corner margin block we have encountered.

3c 1851-57 Issue, Plate Flaws and Freaks (11, 25, 26). 14 stamps, No. 11 including two with pre-printing paper folds, No. 25 including rosette crack (47R7), large neck flaw (97R6), No. 26 including flaw in "U.S.", button flaw, two "head flaw" (one original gum), pair with scratch in margin between, also unused pair with double perfs between, a few small faults but all attractive, Fine-Very Fine and fascinating group
3c Dull Red, Ty. III, Better Positions (26). 24 stamps, all from a better position showing part captured imprints, interpane selvage with centerlines, corner position, all with neat handstamp cancels, some colored cancels, many plated, range of centering, a few flaws, Fine and desirable group

3c Dull Red, Ty. IV (26A). Original gum, tiny spot on gum will prevent a Mint N.H. call on a certificate but gum has never been touched by a hinge, extraordinary vivid color with strong Orange tint, well-centered, Very Fine and choice, a lovely stamp, Scott Retail as hinged
3c Dull Red, Ty. IV (26A). Colossal margins and perfect centering, bright color on fresh paper, unobtrusive strike of town cancelEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THE 1857 3-CENT TYPE IV. THIS REMARKABLE STAMP HAS THE WIDEST MARGINS WE HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED ON THIS TYPE.
The 3c 1857 Type IV stamps printed from Plates 10 and 11 are notorious for poor centering and tight margins, especially at top and bottom. This extraordinary exception to the rule is the finest example we have encountered.
