Part original gum and hinge remnant, described on older certificate as "with some gum", large margins to ample at right, radiant shade which strikes us as more representative of Orange Brown than most of today's certified examplesVERY FINE AND CHOICE. A REMARKABLY VIBRANT UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT 1847 ISSUE WITH PART ORIGINAL GUM.

A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT 1847 ISSUE IN THE DISTINCTIVE ORANGE BROWN COLOR. THIS EXTRAORDINARY STAMP HAS BEEN GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY P.S.E.
With 2007 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $2,500.00). This grade is the highest awarded by P.S.E. to Scott 1b.

10c Black (2). Positions 79-80L1, horizontal pair, original gum, huge margins to just touched at bottom left incl. sheet margin at right, , intense shade and impression, few small faults incl. creases and tears in both stamps and trivial staining on right stampFINE-VERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE ORIGINAL-GUM PAIR OF THE 10-CENT 1847 ISSUE. ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE WITH THE SHEET MARGIN.
To underscore the rarity of any original-gum multiple of the 10c 1847, there are only three unused blocks recorded (two with original gum), one of which is contained in the Hirzel collection at the Swiss PTT Museum. Only four pairs and a strip of three could be located in our computerized sale records using Power Search.

10c Black (2). Position 4L1, large to huge margins, bright shade, light strike of red grid cancel, also trace of red boxed "Colonies & Art" handstamp and also black French due marking, Very Fine and choice, this 10c 1847 was used on a cover to France, with 1983 and 2004 P.F. certificates

Position 31R, large to gigantic margins including left sheet margin, light strike of blue circular datestamp, accompanying certificate describes faint toned spot at bottom which appears to be small ms. offset on back showing faintly on front, nevertheless an Extremely Fine and exceptionally choice example of this scarce double transfer, with 1995 P.F. certificate
