Full margins, bold red grid cancel and New York Ocean Mail circular datestamp with integral grid, in an old sale we mentioned a horizontal crease at top but all we detect is a tiny corner crease, appears Very Fine, the Ocean Mail datestamp is extremely rare on the 5c 1856 issue, ex Jessup and Hill, illustrated in Hill book (p. 24), Scott value with premium for red cancel only
5c Red Brown (12). Clear strike of red large circle of diamonds fancy cancel of New Haven Conn., ample margins to touched at top, shallow filled thins, Fine appearance, fancy or non-standard cancels are rare on the 5c 1856 Issue
