FINE AND RARE COMPLETE 49-cENT BOOKLET OF THE 2-cENT TYPE IV. ONE OF THE RARITIES OF BOOKLET PANE COLLECTING AND THE THIRD WE HAVE OFFERED SINCE KEEPING COMPUTERIZED RECORDS.
As an indication of rarity, the Beutel collection had only a Specimen booklet (BK3-S). We have offered only two of No. BK3 without Specimen since we began keeping computerized records 30 years ago, or in any Rarities of the World sales since 1964. There were none in the Bush, Silverman, Floyd, Hertzka or Larkin collections.

VERY FINE AND RARE COMPLETE BOOKLET OF THE 1912 2-CENT ISSUE WITH THE DISTINCTIVE WASHBURN PATENT INTERLEAVING.
This is a fascinating complete booklet variety, described in the BIA Booklet Cover checklist as "Grilled waxed paper interleaves experimentally used on 396 booklets of the 2c - 12 subject size". A Bureau Specialist article by Hugh Southgate from 1940 discussed experimental interleaving for booklets. This is only the second complete BK35a booklet listed in Power Search. The Beutel collection contained a complete booklet as well as an exploded booklet with faulty tabs.

FINE-VERY FINE. A RARE VIRTUALLY COMPLETE BOOKLET OF THE ONE-CENT PANE ISSUED TO AMERICAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCES IN FRANCE DURING WORLD WAR I.
This is lacking only two panes to be complete. Scott value as eight panes with no premium for the covers.

Front and back covers, intact staples at right and eleven pieces of interleaving without any 499f panes, pink cover reads "300 2 Cent Postage Stamps $6", top cover light creases and small piece out at bottom right, still Very Fine, it is unfortunate that no stamps accompany but this is a phenomenal collateral item, there are no known part or complete booklets and there are believed to be only five or six covers of empty 2c A.E.F. booklets

Comprehensive Complete Booklets Collection, 1912-42 (BK31/BK103). Extensive collection of complete booklets on stock pages with collector identifications for each, more than 80 items with duplication on most to show different cover types or positions, many cataloging in the hundreds of dollars and up to $1,000, lots of better items including front and back covers for the 1c AEF pane (498f) as well as BK76 with glassine interleaving (unlisted and rare), a couple small condition issues on earlier items but overall fresh and tight booklets, review of our website PDF is essential as there are far too many to describe here, a valuable and desirable collection, Scott value exceeds $14,000 not counting the 1c AEF covers or any premium for the BK76 var.
