$1.00 Violet Brown (423). Bottom imprint, plate no. 5782 and letter "A" block of six, original gum, lightly hinged and bottom center stamp small pencil notation on gumFINE AND RARE IMPRINT AND PLATE NUMBER BLOCK OF SIX OF THE $1.00 1912 DOUBLE-LINE WATERMARKED FRANKLIN ISSUE.
Scott 423 was printed from a single plate, which had plate numbers at top and bottom. This is one of the rarest of the Washington-Franklin Issue plate blocks. Lewis Kaufman records nine top and two bottom plate blocks.

Joint line pair, vivid color, 1923 circular datestamp and grid duplex cancel, Fine, this is invariably found with perfs touching or cutting in at top (when it is found at all in used condition), this issue is overshadowed by its much more famous Type I counterpart, Scott 449, but it is actually as rare or more rare as a used joint line pair, with 2013 P.S.E. certificate, Scott Catalogue inexplicably reduced the price on this from $800.00 in 2019 to $300.00 in 2021
