Mobile Ala., 2c Black (58X1). Thin layer of original gum called "sweated" on certificate, full margins to touched at lower right, tiny thin spots, appears Very Fine, with 1980 P.F. certificate
Mobile Ala., 5c Blue (58X2). Horizontal pair, huge to enormous margins all around, with large part of adjacent stamps at bottom, tied to small piece by perfectly struck "Mobile Ala. Oct. 23, 1861" double-circle datestamp, Extremely Fine Gem pair, ex Caspary and Hillmer, with 1991 and 2023 P.F. certificates
Tellico Plains Tenn., 5c Red (81X1). Setting A with period after "Johnson", unused (no gum), large margins to just touched at bottom left, couple small filled thin spots at bottom, appears Very Fine, the Rheatown and Tellico Plains provisionals were printed by the same printer, using a typeset form of three subjects, for the Tellico Plains provisional, which probably followed the Rheatown, the post office and postmaster's names were changed, and the third subject at right was reset with a 10c denomination, only two used examples are recorded, both December 1861 dates (one is a cover)
10c Indigo, Paterson (2c). Large to huge margins, wonderful depth of color in the rare Indigo, tied to small piece by "Abingdon Va. Nov. 6" circular datestamp, stamp with corner crease at bottom left, faint vertical crease and small facial scrape at bottom, none of these issues are particularly obvious, appears Extremely Fine, with 2024 P.F. certificate, SCV $7,500

10c Carmine (5a var). Position 4 with malformed "T" of "Ten", Large margins to clear at bottom right, beautiful intense shade, Richmond Va. circular datestamp cancel, small thin spots, Very Fine appearance and a nice combination of the scarce shade with the variety, with 2024 P.F. certificate, Scott value as normal No. 5a
10c Greenish Blue, Die A (11c). Mint N.H. bottom imprint and plate no. 1 block of 14, with "Daly" deleted, brownish gum with the typical unevenness and some gum toning on front, huge margins, appears Extremely Fine
1c Orange (14). Mint N.H., Jumbo margins including portions of adjoining stamps and bottom left corner sheet margins, bright color, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2013 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100), we gather that this did not receive the "Jumbo" appellation solely due to the corner margin position — which is actually more desirable in our opinion
