1c Green, Booklet Pair, Imperforate Between (331a var). Deep rich color, centered to top as are all the few known genuine examplesFINE. A VERY RARE ERROR PAIR. FEWER THAN TEN HAVE BEEN CERTIFIED.
This error was discussed at length by George Brett in the Philatelic Foundation's Opinions V and updated by Roger Brody in Opinions VII.
With 1958 P.F. certificate. Footnoted in Scott under the normal booklet pane listing as "a variety resulting from booklet experiments"
13c Blue Green (339). Mint N.H., perfectly centered with wide and balanced margins, deep rich color and detailed impressionEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A STUNNING MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF SCOTT 339, GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E. -- THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED.
With 2003 P.F. and 2006 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98; SMQ $2,300.00). This is the highest grade awarded and it is shared by only five others.
5c Blue, Imperforate (347). Mint N.H., with wide top plate no. 4929 selvage, other margins extraordinarily large, proof-like color and impression, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2008 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100 Jumbo; SMQ $475.00 for 100, the highest grade priced), one of only two to be awarded this ultimate grade
5c Blue, Imperforate (347). Massive Jumbo margins showing portions of all adjoining stamps, rich color, neat strikes of New York oval registry cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, a huge stamp, ex Kirke, with 2010 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 100, SMQ $600.00 for 100), this is the highest grade possible and the only example to achieve this grade, while it is not unusual to "create" imperforate Washington-Franklin Jumbos from mint sheets or large multiples, finding a used multiple that will yield a stamp such as this is considerably more difficult
1c Green, Coil (348). Mint N.H. guide line pair, brilliant color and detailed impression, gorgeous centering with wide and balanced marginsEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED GUIDE LINE PAIR OF THE ONE-CENT VERTICAL COIL, SCOTT 348. EXCEEDINGLY RARE IN SUCH SUPERB CONDITION.
Ex "Scarsdale" and "Hanover". With 1981, 1999 P.F. and 2004 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98; SMQ $4,000.00). This is the highest grade awarded and it is shared by only two others
2c Carmine, Coil (349). Mint N.H. strip of three with part imprint at top, bright color, fresh and Very Fine, with 2013 P.S.A.G. certificate, Scott Retail as normal pair and single
2c Carmine, Coil (349). Guide line pair, vivid color, neat machine cancel, top stamp with light horizontal crease, appears Fine, an extremely rare used guide line pair of this issue, with 2011 Weiss and 2011 P.S.E. certificates (VG-F 60 because of the fault), this is the only used guide line pair in the P.S.E. Population Report, we have not offered another example since keeping computerized records (a very off-center line pair in Power Search with a clear P.S.E. certificate subsequently received a negative P.F. certificate)
5c Blue, Coil (351). Mint N.H. paste-up strip of four with plate no. 4929 tab on second stamp, rich color, Fine, with 1997 P.F. certificate, Scott Retail as two normal pairs
5c Blue, Coil (351). Pair, outstanding centering and margins, used with guide line pair of Scott 390, tied by "Niles Mich" boxed cancels on registered cover to Benton Harbor Mich., "Niles Mich. Registered Nov. 18, 1914" backstamps, Extremely Fine, a scarce on-cover use of the 5c 1909 Perf 12 coil, with 1999 P.S.E. certificate, a pair off-cover is priced at $825.00 in Scott
1c Green, Coil (352). Jumbo margins and perfect centering, neat oval grid duplex cancel, light corner crease at top right, still Extremely Fine, with 2013 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90 Jumbo; SMQ $800.00), only two used singles grade higher (highest is 95J), this would top them all but for the light crease
1c Green, Coil (352). Guide line pair, deep rich color, wide margins, wavy-line machine cancel, Very Fine, this is a rare coil in sound used condition with decent centering, with 2001 and 2010 P.S.E. certificates (F-VF 75; SMQ $1,100.00), this is the highest grade awarded to a guide line pair of this issue and it is shared by no others, the next highest is a single line pair graded 50
2c Carmine, Coil (353). Guide line strip of four, line pair with single hinge mark, end stamps Mint N.H., bright color, Fine, with 2003 P.F. certificate, Scott Retail as line pair and two singles
2c Carmine, Coil (353). Pair, choice centering and margins, rich color, neat duplex cancels, fresh and Extremely Fine, a very rare used pair in this quality, with 2015 P.F. certificate (VF-XF 85), by way of comparison the P.S.E. Population Report lists only three graded used pairs with the highest at 75, this was the finest example Mr. Depew was able to acquire after years of searching
2c Carmine, Coil (353). Guide line pair, wide margins and choice centering, deep rich color, neat duplex cancels, right stamp with some light creasing and a tiny tear, a few perf separations but intact, Very Fine-Extremely Fine appearance, incredibly rare and easily the finest used guide line pair of this issue we have ever offered, Power Search contains only two others, both with margins cut in at top, faults and rejoined -- really not comparable to this visibly appealing intact line pair, with 2006 P.S.E. certificate as a strip of four
2c Carmine, Coil (353). Strip of six with 2mm spacing at left transitioning to 3mm spacing, bright color, bold "Bethlehem Pa." boxed cancels, perfs a bit weak but intact, Fine and rare large used multiple of this coil with both varieties of spacing (which was employed by the Bureau of Engraving & Printing in an attempt to counteract paper shrinkage), with 2015 P.S.E. certificate, Scott Retail as pairs
5c Blue, Coil (355). Guide line pair, rich color, centered to bottom but with margin clear, neat double oval cancel, Fine and very rare used guide line pair of this issue, perhaps a half dozen are known in any condition, with 2007 and 2013 P.S.E. certificates (F 70; SMQ $1,350.00), this is the only graded used line pair in the P.S.E. Population Report
10c Yellow, Coil (356). Paste-up pair, right stamp was where the paste-up occurred, with plate no. 4944 tab remnant attached to back, vivid color, left stamp lightly hinged despite the most recent certificate calling the pair Mint N.H.VERY FINE. A RARE PASTE-UP PAIR OF THE 10-CENT PERF 12 HORIZONTAL COIL WITH A PLATE NUMBER ON THE PASTE-UP TAB.
This early coil was stripped into rolls by hand. Paste-ups occurred where one strip was joined with the other.
With 1943 A.P.S., 2004 and 2013 P.S.E. certificates, the latter stating Mint N.H. Scott Retail as normal hinged pair
10c Yellow, Coil (356). Accompanying certificate notes regummed but may be disturbed original gum, vibrant color, Fine, with 1991 P.S.E. certificate, Scott Retail as original gum
