1c Express, Red, Part Perforated (R1b). Vertical strip of five, large margins, April 23, 1864 manuscript cancels, horizontal crease thru pos. 4 and between bottom two stamps, Very Fine appearance, a scarce multiple, with 2016 P.F. certificate, Scott value as pairs and single

Wide margins, brilliant color, neat manuscript cancel, some stray (possibly printer's) ink on back barely shows thru at bottom, Very Fine and choice, ex Handy, Floyd and "Scarsdale", with 1985 and 2001 P.F. certificates not mentioning the ink on back and 2018 P.F. certificate noting "some extraneous ink on back showing thru lightly on front"
1c Proprietary, Red, Part Perforated (R3b). Brilliant color, choice centering, neat manuscript cancel, Very Fine and choice, ex Curtis, with 2005 P.S.E. and 2015 P.F. certificates (latter XF 90)
2c Playing Cards, Blue, Part Perforated (R11b). Horizontal pair, but not in the configuration listed in catalogue, intense color, neat manuscript cancels, left stamp small corner crease at bottom left, Very Fine appearance, only five pairs and one strip of four are listed in the multiples census at The Curtis Collection website, ex Curtis, with 2008 and 2015 P.F. certificates, Scott value as normal pair
4c Proprietary, Purple, Part Perforated (R22b). Wide margins at top and bottom, bright color, neat strike of "Wm. Spooner & Co. Niles, Mich. Apr. 14, 1863" oval handstamp cancel, also small cut cancels, Very Fine and choice, an attractive stamp, with 2013 P.F. certificate
5c Express, Red, Part Perforated (R25b). Vertical pair, wide margins, bright color nicely complemented by blue June 1, 1863 express company circular datestamps, Extremely Fine, ex Inman and Helton, with 2004 and 2016 P.F. certificates
10c Certificate, Blue, Part Perforated (R33b). Rich color on bright paper, with left sheet margin, bold strike of oval handstamp cancel, small blue manuscript cancel at center, Very Fine and attractive, with 1992 P.F. certificate
