A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE $30.00 SERIES 1942 SILVER TAX ISSUE. ONLY ELEVEN ARE RECORDED, OF WHICH PERHAPS FOUR ARE UNUSED.
Eric Jackson records only eleven examples of RG102. Three others are confirmed as unused, including serial nos. 761, 762 and 817.

THE $50.00 SERIES 1942 SILVER TAX IS ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL REVENUES ISSUES. ONLY THREE ARE RECORDED, AND THIS IS THE FIRST WE HAVE OFFERED SINCE KEEPING COMPUTERIZED RECORDS.
This rarity was missing from most major Revenue sales, including "Scarsdale" and Floyd. Only three are known, listed here by order of serial number:
1) Serial no. 721, ex Cunliffe and Lyons
2) Serial no. 723, offered in Siegel Sale 436 (September 13-15, 1973, lot 975), current whereabouts unknown
3) Serial no. 731, ex Buford and Sohn, the example offered here

The Curtis Collection website and the census compiled by Revenue expert Eric Jackson list only two unused examples of this issue. The other, serial no. 791, is ex Cunliffe, Buford and "Wildhorse".

$100.00 Gray, "Series 1942" Ovpt., Silver Tax (RG105). Serial no. 783, purple handstamp cancel, choice centering with wide and balanced marginsEXTREMELY FINE. THIS IS WITHOUT QUESTION ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES OF THE $100.00 SERIES 1942 SILVER TAX STAMPS IN EXISTENCE. THIS IS NOT KNOWN IN UNUSED CONDITION, AND MOST USED EXAMPLES HAVE EITHER STAPLE HOLES OR FAULTS.
Richard Friedberg records a total of 17 copies of this issue. Over half are either faulty or have staple holes.

A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $500.00 SERIES 1942 SILVER TAX ISSUE. ONLY TWELVE ARE RECORDED AND IT IS NOT KNOWN IN UNUSED CONDITION.
Eric Jackson records only twelve examples of RG106. Approximately half are faulty or have staple holes.

THIS IS PROBABLY THE FINEST EXAMPLE OF THE $1,000.00 SERIES 1942 SILVER TAX ISSUE IN EXISTENCE. ONLY ELEVEN USED EXAMPLES ARE RECORDED AND NO UNUSED EXAMPLES ARE KNOWN.
