Lynchburg Va., Stamped Cover Balance. More than 85 covers to or from Lynchburg Va., the only non-cover item is pair 5c Red Brown (1) pen cancelled on piece with Lynchburg circular datestamp, most of the rest from the 1850's-60's with a wide range of issues, best items include No. 11A with blue "Way 6" (James River & Kanawha Canal), a couple 3c 1851 Orange Browns, No. 15 to Havana, No. 17 solo use to Richmond, No. 367 first day cover, cover with 4c, 5c and 10c Parcel Post (purchased for $400 at auction in 1977), lots of others which are largely ordinary, mixed condition with faults to be expected on many, overall Fine group

Collection of 45 advertising covers from Lynchburg Va., including 16 from before 1870, 23 from the Bank Note period and 7 later, wide range of designs with corner cards, embossed cameos including Lynchburg & Abingdon Telegraph, lots of illustrated including No. 26 on a livery and stable cover with illustration of a trotting horse, colleges, many other interesting designs, mixed condition with some downright faulty and some Fine, this collector never met a Lynchburg cover he did not like, overall an interesting group worth review

Large album with more than 80 circus-themed covers, earliest including three franked with 3c 1857 and thirteen franked with 3c 1861 (few with faults), range of other issues through Washington-Franklins and a few later including many with Bank Note issues, nearly all are illustrated, many elaborately and a few all-over designs, two most interesting groups are P. T. Barnum and Buffalo Bill, unused "Southern Menagerie is Coming" Civil War Patriotic design (see Siegel Sale 1048, lot 263 for used example), mixed condition with faults to be expected, overall Fine appearance, an outstanding circus-related group
