2c Rose Carmine (267c), Mint N.H. with part imprint selvage at left, brilliant color, trace of fingerprint on gum, Very Fine and choice example of this difficult shade, with 2008 P.S.E. certificate (VF 80; unpriced in SMQ), note from William A. Litle notes that this was the first certified by P.S.E. despite the fact that the shade was first listed in Scott Catalogue in 1999, unpriced in Scott Catalogue
6c Dull Brown (271). Top imprint and plate no. 386 block of six, five stamps Mint N.H., top right stamp lightly hinged, bright color, fresh and Fine example of this scarce plate block, ex Whitpain
8c Violet Brown (272). Intense shade and impression, mathematically perfect centering with wide and balanced margins, unobtrusive purple cancel at upper right, Extremely Fine Gem, a stunning stamp, with 2011 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100; unpriced above the grade of 98 in SMQ, SMQ $410.00 as 98), this is the highest grade awarded to date and only one other shares this grade
8c Violet Brown (272). Incredibly wide even margins, neat Baltimore oval cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, used Bureau Issues with wide margins and choice centering are hard to find, with 2008 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98; SMQ $410.00), only two have graded higher to date
10c Dark Green (273). Bottom imprint and plate no. 306 strip of three, left stamp faintly hinged, center and right stamps Mint N.H., fresh, deep color, Very Fine, Alcuri handstamp guarantees in selvage and with his certificate
15c Dark Blue (274). Mint N.H., attractive centering, intense color on crisp paper, Very Fine and choice, with 1985 P.F. certificate

A STUNNING USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1895 $5.00 WATERMARKED BUREAU ISSUE. A DIFFICULT ISSUE TO OBTAIN IN SUCH SUPERB CONDITION.
The $5.00 was usually heavily cancelled or used on heavy parcels which were not treated kindly. The example offered here, with gorgeous centering, rich color, bright paper and an attractive cancel, is a true rarity.
With 2011 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $3,900.00). Only three have graded higher to date.
$5.00 Dark Green (278). Strong color and clear impression, neat "3" in center of five bars cancel, Very Fine, an exceptionally attractive used example of this 1895 Bureau Issue high value, with 2011 P.S.E. certificate
$5.00 Dark Green (278). Horizontal pair, deep rich color and proof-like impression, oval registry cancel, Very Fine and choice, used multiples of this high-denomination issue are scarce, with 2011 P.S.E. certificate
10c Brown, Ty. I (282C). Exceptionally wide balanced margins, Jumbo for the issue, deep rich color, neat oval cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2007 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98; SMQ $1,300.00), one of only three awarded this lofty grade with none higher
10c Orange Brown, Ty. II (283). Mint N.H. top imprint and plate no. 996 strip of four with wide selvage, radiant color, long and full perforationsVERY FINE. A RARE IMPRINT AND PLATE NUMBER MULTIPLE OF THE 1899 10-CENT TYPE II. AS AN INDICATION OF RARITY, WE HAVE NEVER SOLD A FULL PLATE BLOCK IN MINT NEVER-HINGED CONDITION.
In 2011 we offered a no-gum plate block, also from the top position, but with shorter selvage; it was the only full plate block we had offered since keeping computerized records. A similar one with gum was offered in the Wampler sale. This Mint N.H. strip, with the full imprint and plate no., is a great rarity.
