Complete set of original gum blocks, including Mint N.H. 1c block of six with most of top imprint and plate no. 1139 (not a complete plate block), 2c lightly hinged top imprint and plate no. 1098 block of eight, 4c block of four with most of bottom imprint and plate no. 1145 (not a complete plate block), top pair h.r., 5c Mint N.H. bottom plate no. 1141 and arrow block of four (unpriced in Scott as Mint N.H. so counted as four singles), 8c bottom plate no. 1143 and arrow block of four, bottom pair Mint N.H., also 8c block of six with most of bottom imprint and plate nos. 1150 and 1143, with five stamps Mint N.H. (not a complete plate block but catalogue value of $1,240.00 nonetheless), finally 10c bottom plate no. 1144 and arrow block of four, one stamp Mint N.H., overall attractive centering and margins, Fine to mostly Very Fine

1c Green & Black, Pan-American, Center Inverted (294a). Original gum, lightly hinged, with wide bottom selvage, unusually choice centeringVERY FINE AND CHOICE. A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL-GUM BOTTOM SELVAGE EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT PAN-AMERICAN INVERT.
According to Johl, the 1c Pan-American Inverts were found in at least four different post offices around the country soon after release of the issue in May 1901, including Bessemer Ala., Richmond Va., Utica N.Y. and Connecticut. Most examples are off-center and/or have disturbed gum. The example offered here is remarkably fresh

4c Deep Red Brown & Black, Pan-American, Center Inverted, Specimen Ovpt. (296a-S). Large part disturbed original gum, the "Specimen" handstamp removed at upper right, corner added at top left, reperfed at right, small tears at top and rightVERY FINE APPEARANCE. A PRESENTABLE EXAMPLE OF THE 4-CENT PAN-AMERICAN INVERT WITH "SPECIMEN" OVERPRINT.
A total of 173 4c Pan-American Invert stamps were distributed by the Third Assistant Postmaster General's office, and an additional 97 were traded by the National Museum. The majority of stamps distributed by the Post Office Department had the "Specimen" overprint, but some did not. Many have thin spots and/or disturbed gum.

10c Yellow Brown & Black, Pan-American (299). Bottom imprint and plate no. 1151 block of six, original gum, lightly hinged, gum wrinkle affects right two stamps, small (printing?) mark on bottom middle stamp, otherwise Fine, Scott value $6,000.00
