This is the first multi-proof group of these scarce large die trial colors we have offered since our 1999 Finkelburg sale.

Complete set including both 15c types, removed from Roosevelt Album card backing, rich colors, faults from card removal (they are very difficult to separate from the cards due to the adhesive that was used in their production), a couple with some light toning, otherwise Very Fine, only 85 albums were produced
1c-90c 1869 Pictorial, Plate Proofs on India (112P3-122P3, 129P3). Complete set of eleven, both 15c are Ty. III but vastly different shades, a few are mounted on backing bond paper, large margins, bright colors, a few with typical small flaws, overall Very Fine

Mint N.H. with top right corner selvage, bright color, wide and balanced margins, horizontally split grill but since this is from the top of the sheet it only shows half the grill at bottom and none at top (technically this is an unlisted variety), Extremely Fine Gem, with 2014 P.S.A.G. certificate (XF 90 Jumbo), Scott Retail as hinged

6c Ultramarine (115). Original gum, h.r., bright color, wide margins to in at bottom, Very Good, with 1974 P.F. certificate
6c Ultramarine (115). Centered to top right, bearing clear strike of "Hiogo, Japan" double-circle handstamp, small corner creases at top corners, an extremely rare cancellation on the 6c 1869, the U.S. Post Office opened in Hiogo in 1868, with 1991 P.F. certificate
10c Yellow (116). Original gum, faint trace of hinging, vibrant color, Very Fine, a lovely original-gum example of the 10c 1869 Pictorial, ex "Hampshire", with 2008 P.F. certificate

Outstanding centering with balanced margins, vibrant color, cancelled by rim of circular datestamp and bold segmented circular cork, Extremely Fine Gem, a beautiful stamp and difficult to find in this condition, with 2001 and 2011 P.F. certificates (XF-Superb 95), by way of comparison, the P.S.E. Population Report lists only five used Scott 116's graded above 95
