$60.00 Brown, Blue Handstamped "Series 1940" Ovpt., Silver Tax (RG56). Serial no. 147005, perfectly centered with wide margins, purple Nov. 13, 1940 oval cancels, completely soundEXTREMELY FINE GEM. THE $60.00 BROWN 1940 SERIES SILVER TAX IS ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL SILVER TAX STAMPS. ONLY NINE EXAMPLES ARE RECORDED -- ALL ARE USED AND THIS IS ONE OF THE TWO FINEST IN EXISTENCE.
This denomination is particularly desirable because it depicts Abraham Lincoln. Six of the nine recorded copies are sound. This stamp comes from the serial number following the "Scarsdale" copy but is from a different sheet of four.

Eric Jackson records a total of thirteen used copies of this issue. Of these at least six have faults and several are centered to the bottom. This sound and centered example is very rare and desirable.
